Bachmann class 20 100 and 4 Hornby TTA wagons have been weathered for David Watson of Dean Park. The brief for the loco was an all over faded BR Blue, but with a light weathering to compliment. The TTA's brief was for a light weathering too. These can be seen working on Dean Park on Dave's FB page and also his YouTube channel.

These Accurascale's class 37's were also part of the latest group of loco's for the same customer as the previous two posts, so quite a collection to add to the already large fleet TRSW has already completed for them. The same work specification has been carried out, with the addition of a renumbering and naming of 37 717, originally 37 714.

After a long absence from posting due to the sheer heavy workload with the run up to Christmas, for which I am very grateful for, I'll start to try and catch up with posting recently completed items for customers.

Here we have 37 409 "Lord Hinton" and 37 026 "Shapfell" which are now back running their scheduled workings on their home layout.

We would like to wish all of our current, past and future customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's be...

We would like to wish all of our current, past and future customers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It's been our busiest year yet and the order books suggests it'll be just as busy from the very start of 2025, which is a great thing for us and we are very thankful for customers continued support. It is never taken for granted.

We'll be working right up to the end of play on Christmas Eve to ensure we get your models completed and returned before we close.

Have a good one 😁👍👍👍

I was asked by a customer if the original headcode illumination set up in the Accurascale 37 could be improved, by attempting to even out the 2 LED sources of light behind the headcode blinds.

Accurascale, for whatever reason, has lit behind the two outermost of the 4 blinds and have then surrounded these two LED's with a blanking wall, which stops the light from reaching the inner two blinds evenly. The removal of this blanking wall and with the inclusion of a slightly opaque piece of tape behind the whole headcode blind, allows the more even distribution of light from these two LED's to scatter and show behind the whole blind. It's still not perfect, but it's certainly an improvement.

It would have been much better for the manufacturer to have used 4 LED's, one behind each blind, instead of just two. Accurascale have got the brightness of the headcode lighting just about spot on, and there is also no discernable light bleed, which is commendable, but it's a shame they didn't light each of the 4 blinds individually, but perhaps they could be encouraged to change this aspect with further runs of their class 37 loco.

On the sprayshop workbench this evening......just about to go through the first stages of weathering are a selection of 4mm Accurascale, Bachmann, Cavalex, Heljan and SLW loco's, with a solitary 7mm Dapol 08 joining them. The 08 has already had its body paint faded and weathered and is now about to have the chassis weathered to match.

A morning spent walking around the Spalding Model Railway Exhibition. A great selection of layouts covering most scales and eras. My favorite was Loch Dour in 4mm/OO Scottish Region, which I've seen many videos of but had never seen it in person until today. It didn't disappoint. It looked really good and ran equally well. It was a joy to stand there for 40 minutes and watch the trains pass at the station and take in the sound of the Baby Sulzers working hard on the gradients and tight curves, which is typical of the line modelled. Tomorrow it's the turn of class 37's to take over services. A great layout in all respects.

A curious trio of locos sit at Ranelagh Bridge. Class 52 Western D1000 Western Enterprise holds the fort for the diesel hydraulics, having been on a special return Farewell railtour from Paddington. The new kids on the block are an English Electric Type 4 class 50 50 013 Agincourt, and Sulzer Type 4 class 45 Peak 45 022 Lytham St Anne's, flying the flag for diesel electric traction, which replaced the Westerns, Hymeks and Warships.

Continuing on with the Ranelegh Bridge theme, we see a North British Type 2, class 22, D6327 waiting in the fuelling spur to be called onto a fuelling road. D6327 had arrived at Paddington with an early morning service from Worcester, and once refuelled it will be sent back to Paddington to couple up to the coaching stock for a return service to Shrewsbury. We can just see another loco waiting to gain access to Ranelegh Bridge.

The other loco turns out to be a Swindon built type 2, class 42, 818 Glory, which has just run up from Paddington having arrived in London with a morning service from Penzance. Once topped up, it'll run back to Paddington to form a fast service to Reading.

D6327 later disgraced itself at Ealing Broadway as the power unit shut down. It was removed from the service which was taken forward by D845, and arrived at Shrewsbury some 45 minutes late. D6327 lingered for 4 weeks at Old Oak Common as a result of this failure before being repaired and returned to traffic.

Fresh out of the TRSW workshops is a Cavalex class 56 and two Bachmann class 37's. The Cavalex 56 has had the buffer beam detail fitted at one end with a hoop coupling. All 3 have undergone a Complete 4 Stage Light Enhanced weathering, which includes a light fading of the paintwork and the addition of rust marks and scuffs as per prototype photo's supplied by the customer. Some livery details have been amended on 37 230 too.
