Company Reg are targeting new incorporated Companies. The letter makes out that their set up is in a pending state and they need to pay £47 to activate. In Fact, the activation is for an account with them.

SCAM ALERT!

A number of our limited drivers have received letters from Companies House saying that they need to pay £48 web filing fee to ensure they are compliant on Companies House. We have looked in to this and Companies House have confirmed it is a scam!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR EVERYBODY!

It has come to my attention that a lot of our drivers, staff family and friends are being targeted by the newest scam; the HMRC PHONE CALL.

HMRC WILL NEVER CALL YOU ON AN AUTOMATED MESSAGE ABOUT A CASE AGAINST YOURSELF, OR PROSECUTION.

It appears the phone calls are being made by an automated machine, instructing you to press ‘1’ to deal with a current fraud case or something similar. From when you press this number, they WILL charge you.

DO NOT PRESS 1. HMRC will send correspondence to ourself or yourself if absolutely necessary. End the call immediately.

Buried in the notes to the budget is the attached note, off-payroll reform WILL HAPPEN...................

"7. Income tax (workers’ services provided through intermediaries)
Provides for changes to the off-payroll working rules set out in Chapters 8 and 10 of Part 2 of the Income Tax (Earnings and Pensions) Act 2003 to align the tax treatment for payments
made to individuals working through intermediaries for medium or large organisations outside the public sector with the tax treatment in the public sector. The resolution also provides for a power to make regulations to recover unpaid PAYE debts from the first
agency, or client, in the labour supply chain."
