Call me DJ Khaled… because ANOTHER ONE!

Room B is now available to book via the website. It looks a little raw, but that’s because the floor paint fumes are nasty and the other rooms have bookings almost every day so I don’t want to gas everybody out. I’ll get all of the paint done before we close for our holiday in August.

Sort-out day at the studio today, and I’ve found these old layout sketches in an old box. I would have drawn the first floorplan on Photoshop right after viewing the unit!

Notice the extra “drum room” before the control room? Glad I did away with that, it would have meant roughly a metre less of the length of each room!

And side 2 has sketches of planning the soffit and monitor stand dimensions for the control room, for both my old VS2108’s and V3110’s that I planned on getting. Never thought I’d get my hands on the VS3208’s I have now of course, as elusive as they are!

Love it when a plan comes together 😎

How to get yourself blacklisted from booking rehearsals.

Guitar amplifiers are not tables for drinks. And I’m not your maid to clean up after you. A little bit of respect goes a long way.

Treating my space like this isn’t okay, and I’m absolutely furious right now. I’ve worked so hard to make sure that the rooms and the gear are to a high standard, and this just feels like a kick in the teeth.

If any other local studios want their number in case they contact you, hit me up.

(No they didn’t coil the cables on the stool, I’d already started tidying up before deciding to make this post).

Upgrades! This PCIe add-in card for the studio computer allows 64 audio channels both in and out simultaneously over optical cable. With this I can finally utilise the whole mixing desk, and at super-low latency! 😍
