Anyone wanting to commission work from me, now is a good time. Due to an unexpected gap opening in my diary, I am currently able to take on new work.

Started blocking out a new sign on Saturday. I always enjoy the speed and spontaneity of the sketchy stage, but it can give a false impression of how long it's actually going to take.

This is a sign I have been working on for a long time.
It was commissioned by Hollywood royalty, Paul Rudd when he was over here filming the latest Ghostbusters movie.
It will hang on his home bar in upstate New York.
We spent some time discussing options and layouts as each part of the imagery has deep personal significance to him, and his input was genuinely an integral and very positive addition to the process.
I have offered him a job as a designer with Signature Signs, and he assures me he will consider it. :)
It feels more like a collaboration than a commission, and for that I am very grateful.
He has been very patient with me throughout the painting, and this has allowed me to consider and adjust every part of the picture as many times as I wanted.
I can honestly say that his indulgence in allowing me this much artistic freedom (and time) has resulted in him getting the very best I can give at this point in my career.
It seems to have worked. He is very happy with the result.
It's been a blast working with Paul and getting to know him.
It hasn't all been work. The humour in our email exchanges has been.... "robust"....
All in all I couldn't have asked for a better client.

After having various technical issues with the internet lately I suddenly thought "What if I lose access to my website and social media?" I have become entirely reliant on them for work.
Consequently I am putting up these pictures of my business card with my contact details on.

An interesting article from the World of Interiors publication, who visited my studio a few weeks ago for a photoshoot.

Where might you meet William Shakespeare, Queen Victoria and Punch and Judy at any one time? The Cornish workshop of Andrew Grundon, a heritage craftsman who’s been in with the inn crowd for years. Last orders for trade indeed!

Together at last.
The coronation harvest jug, a collaboration with Douglas Fitch, and the Coronation Charger, a collaboration with Hannah McAndrew.
Doug and Hannah are husband and wife, and my oldest friends.
This combination brings me great joy.

A little while ago I met Roger Kneebone in London at the Art Workers Guild.
He asked if I would be interested in recording a conversation for his podcast series "Countercurrent".
He came to my studio a few weeks later, and we had a chat, unscripted and spontaneous. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I had very little idea what he would ask me about so it took off in all sorts of directions.
This recording is completely unedited, and just as the conversation happened.
If you're interested at all in the creative processes I employ at work, this podcast should give a pretty good condensed idea.
There is a lot of interesting insight in the other podcasts in the series as well.

Dog without owner in Wadebridge, Molesworth street. Seems happy and healthy. Tartan collar with bow. Been taken to the vet by members of the public. Anyone know where this dog belongs. Please share if you are in the area.
