It is with great sadness that the team and I join those celebrating the life of Rich Manley-Reeve. He was a fantastic musician, revered and respected, though he was always humble and kind.
The outpouring of love this weekend stands as testament to who he was, and what he meant to others. In every photograph I've seen thus far, there's been two things, a guitar and a smile.
All of our love goes out to Rich's family and friends.

In the Bad ol' Days of the 70's and 80's, rot, decay and neglect festered in Britain's new economic reality and in a desolate landscape with little to offer, the youth writhed in frustration and voicelessness.
These decades saw the working class have their economic security and community stripped violently from them as UK industry was systematically eviscerated. Nowhere was this felt more acutely than the North East of England.
The pressure felt by the young during this time shot something unknown and unrecognised high into the air. The collective frustration of millions sizzled and bubbled overhead, before eventually exploding into a banner under which all who would reciprocate it's charter of mutual respect and collectivism would be welcome. A new banner of rebellion, resistance, expression and hope had been willed into reality. Punk had been awoken.
Punk became more than just a progenitor musical genre still standing strong today. It became an identity, a counter-culture, a mindset, a set of tenants, and a politick.
To celebrate the young music collectives of the time who stood under this banner, sacrificing their time and energy to steward and nurture the beginning of a legacy of Punk in the North East, an exhibition has been organised by the now-grown youth of that era.
The Exhibition opens this Saturday, 4pm - 7pm at Newcastle Contemporary Art, High Bridge Works, NE1 1EW, and will be a glimpse into the world that was first revealed by the explosion which still burns brightly in the sky today. (link below).

A valid blue light, or student card will apply a 5% discount to any booking, this can stack up to 10% with two valid cards of either type provided by different members of any group.

Whether you're trick-or-treating, or engaging in the age old British tradition of pretending you're not home and hiding in your own living room with the lights off - we need to let you know about the new price increases at The Inc.
We want to continue to provide the very best in rehearsal experience, and to do this, we need to tweak our pricing to keep up with the ever changing economy. Our electricity bills alone have increased an eye watering amount - never mind the rest.
Pretty soon we're going to be dropping new information on all the sweet discounts and new deals that we're introducing to try and balance the necessary new price increases with.

I feel that today is an important day to highlight how much Sound Inc values it's staff. Without past and present members of our team, any time spent using Sound Inc would be far less special.
