The fire which caused the death of the parents of two young boys was caused by a lithium e-bike battery, an inquest heard.

Danielle Bamber, 24, and Joshua Pearson, 28, were both killed when a battery pack exploded inside the Peter Street home in July. One of their boys, aged six, was rescued by neighbours who smashed glass on the front door to set him free before the younger sibling was rescued by emergency workers.

The death of a Blackpool teenager has prompted a coroner to call for change amid fears over the “underappreciated” danger of her prescribed medication.

According to the National Poisons Information Service (NPIS), 172 people intentionally overdosed using the drug in 2022/23

Blackpool Police are looking for help with a missing person
This is Riley he is 11 and is currently missing from home.
We’re really concerned about his welfare and so we’re asking for your help to bring him home.
Riley was last seen at Central Drive Park at 16:30 on 29/11/2024.
When he was last seen, he was wearing a grey t-shirt, black Berghaus body warmer and black joggers. Riley is around 5 feet tall and slight in build, with short blonde hair.
Riley is from and has links to the Blackpool area.

The Blackpool Bible - Blackpool's Local Online Community We started back in Jan 2015 with the intention of spreading the GOOD word about Blackpool. Since then we’ve evolved a little into a local interest page which also brings you the best of the internet along with some good (and not so great) news about Blackpool, it’s locals and the businesses therein. We love to help out locals who are charitable and also to help promote local events. We’re also getting pretty good at livestreaming and with our partner brand @3StreamUK we can provide a great quality live broadcast from pretty much anywhere that has a decent internet connection. There are currently 18 volunteers helping to make the BPL Bible better each day and we all do it for the love of Blackpool. Many of us have experience in marketing or related industries like photography and videography and we would love to help local businesses to make a bigger impact on social media in our local area.
