So after almost ten years of service, Mr Matt Chung is hanging up his studio keys and taking a break from working the evening rehearsal shifts at Rock Hard Studios.

Although it won’t be the last we see of Matt as he will still be in during day times and the occasional evening cover from time to time.

With Matt moving away from working evenings it now means we are looking for someone to step into Matt’s shoes and take over two evenings a week covering rehearsals 5:30-10:30PM, Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

The ideal person must be 21+ (for insurance purposes), have good knowledge of music equipment, PA Systems, Guitar Amps, Drums etc, be friendly and approachable for clients, reliable, be a great team player, not afraid of a bit of cleaning, dusting, hoovering, general studio maintenance and ideally have their own transport (although this isn’t a must).

You must be happy working on your own during the evenings, opening up the rehearsal suites at 5:30pm helping clients get set up, making brews, maintaining equipment, cleaning and finishing at 10:30pm after closing time.

More new goodies for the studio! 🎧

So our headphone and foldback system in the studio has been in need of an upgrade for a little while and with a massive thanks to and we’ve opted for this brilliant P16i and P16HQ system!

With 16 channels of crystal clear digital audio down a single CAT5 cable and the option for the artist to mix their own headphones with as amy individual mixes as we could possibly need, this system was a no brainer.

Out with the old and in with the new, the Powerplay P16 system has massively upgraded what we have to offer here at Rock Hard.

The super team at managed to get all this new kit to us in no time at all, ordered last week and installed ready to go today, just in time for a pretty much solidly booked six weeks of sessions!

Sonor AQ1 Birch - Studio Test! 😍 🥁 Wow these kits don’t half punch well above their weight! Back in April we took delivery of five of these stunning Sonor kits specifically to go in our rehearsal suites. We wanted kits that we knew would sound amazing acoustically as well as provide the best quality for our rehearsal clients. The Sonor AQ1 was definitely the right choice! On a rare, free day in the studio last week we took the opportunity to throw some mics at one of the kits and see how it sounded in a studio environment, the AQ1 did NOT disappoint. Welcome to Rock Hard Studios, a high end, Neve equipped, boutique recording studio based in central Blackpool. We’re passionate about music, making music, writing music, playing music; it’s all we do!

Our large, professional, central Blackpool based studio welcomes all levels of musical ability and genres of music tastes. We can work directly with producers, song writers, bands and solo artists to develop your music and create stunning sounding productions for you.

Opened in 2007 by highly experienced mixer and engineer Dan Atkinson the studio now boasts a Neve Genesys Black G48 Console, tonnes of high end outboard gear from SSL, Neve, Kemper, UA, Teletronix, Maag, Avalon to name a few. But that’s not all, Rock Hard’s microphone locker boasts some of the most sought after microphones in the industry, from Neumann U47s to Royer Ribbons, AKG, Shure and Sennheiser classics.

Over the years Rock Hard Studios has taken sessions for some of the biggest celebrity clients in the world right through to national and local talent taking their first step on the ladder to writing, recording and releasing music.
