Warning: unusually a serious post incoming!
My “memories” suggest it’s almost 14 years since we finished building the live room in Studio A. I think this is the first pic I took. The wooden flooring isn’t even down at this point.
I still love how this room makes everything - but particularly drums - sound so damn big. And because the reversible wall panels are absorbent on one side and are faced with binary amplitude diffusion panels on the other side, I can use them to adjust both the reverb response and the tonality of the room to suit the instrument and the song I am working on so that it fits right where I want it in the mix.
But today I’m mixing again. So I’m not even gonna turn the lights on 😂
