Warning: unusually a serious post incoming!

My “memories” suggest it’s almost 14 years since we finished building the live room in Studio A. I think this is the first pic I took. The wooden flooring isn’t even down at this point.

I still love how this room makes everything - but particularly drums - sound so damn big. And because the reversible wall panels are absorbent on one side and are faced with binary amplitude diffusion panels on the other side, I can use them to adjust both the reverb response and the tonality of the room to suit the instrument and the song I am working on so that it fits right where I want it in the mix.

But today I’m mixing again. So I’m not even gonna turn the lights on 😂

Very excited to announce that the new occupant of Studio B just picked up the keys.

Many of you on the Birmingham scene will know Dave McCabe as the long term house engineer at Muthers. Dave watched our new suite slowly take shape and decided it was time to take it to the next level.

He’ll be spending the next couple of weeks setting up but expects to be open for bookings my mid-September. If you are ready to take it to the next level, get your name into his diary ASAP!

Excited to finally be able to shout about this one. An orchestra, a choir, one of the UK’s top bands, and a 185 mics on stage at one of the world’s top concert venues... and we mixed it right here in Birmingham.
