Step into the culture, food, and life of Handsworth, as seen through the eyes of local Jerkman, Adrian. A celebration of family, Jamaican culture, and Handsworth, JERKMAN shines a light on an often misrepresented region of Brum, and celebrates the people and community of an area us Brummies should be proud of.

The City Speaks: Rupert

Following the sad news that The Electric Cinema in Brum is closing and faces demolition, we are sharing voices to build awareness and connection to a cultural and historic asset of our city.
The Electric is the oldest working cinema in the UK, and sits in the middle of Station Street; a place rich in cultural history and a gem of Brum.
We will be telling me stories of The Electric, building a memory of place, and working with other local groups to fight back and retain such a special piece of West Midlands history.

The City Speaks is a series of films platforming local voices to explore the flux and change happening in our ever evolving city, giving regular people an opportunity to learn, question, and discuss the direction and identity of our home.
Balvinder's family have worked at the Birmingham Indoor Markets for decades, and currently run a stall selling workwear clothing. He shares with us his concerns that economic growth will have on the city, and our regions growing inequality.

Welcome to Grace & James, a neighbour of Blowwater's, and the delectable Lewis, a good friend of Sabrina.
@lactose_lewis and the team at @graceandjameskh supported Sabrina early on, helping her to create a wine list that worked with her fresh and cosy dumpling menu.
It was great to work with the team and we highly recommend their wine 👌 Check out Grace + James on York Rd, Kings Heath
