Final weekend of Ice Skate Birmingham 2024-25. It had been open for 2 months and 5 days. Will close Sunday 5th January 2025. Expect them to return to to build the 2025-26 ice rink and rides in October 2025.

City Star Flyer has been closed since the accident (we hope that the people injured make a full recovery). But the Birmingham Big Wheel and Air rides appear to have been given permission to reopen eventually.

There is also Love Food, Love Toasties, Marshmallow Toasting and Street Treats.

Have you ever seen the concourse empty from Bullring & Grand Central Birmingham above?

Most entrances were closed on Boxing Day, other than Stephenson Street for access to and from Grand Central above (they put barriers halfway down).

After no buses on Christmas Day, there was a limited bus service on Boxing Day. Trams were also running.

The Coca-Cola Christmas Truck has visited the Bullring & Grand Central Birmingham on multiple occasions over the last decade. It was in St Martin's Square in December 2014, 2016 and 2023. In 2024 it was in Rotunda Square.

Back when Ice Skate Birmingham was in Eastside City Park over December 2017 and 2018, the truck could be pictured at the time with the Birmingham Big Wheel. This is now High Speed Two Limited (HS2 Ltd) land near Curzon Street Station.

Entrance to the from New Street . Every Christmas season (late October to late December or early January) they put different Christmas decorations at the entrance.

In 2019, was a pair of Nutcracker soldiers. By 2022 was Christmas presents wrapped in tinsel. Now in 2024 it's a pair of Candy canes, also wrapped in tinsel.

You head through the arcade down the steps to Stephenson Street and Grand Central Tram Stop (as well as towards Birmingham New Street Station).

Tommy Shelby lookalike competition to take place in Birmingham

Fans of the peaky blinders to show off their best Tommy Shelby impression dress up in the famous Flat Cap and overcoat started at 3 pm by the Birmingham bull outside the Bullring on the 23 of November 2024.

A statement from the organisers, read: “The Bullring will welcome spectators and participants alike as fans gather to celebrate their love for the hit drama. For those not stepping up to the challenge, there’s plenty of fun to be had watching contenders give it their best shot at perfecting that signature Shelby smoulder.

The winner of the competition gets Prize of a big mac from maccies on the ramp or £500 shopping spree.

66-year-old Derek Brennan was named the winner and did choosed £500

50 years ago this evening of the at the Mulberry Bush (under the Rotunda) and Tavern in the Town (up New Street in the basement of King Edward House, later the Yard of Ale) on 21st November 1974. There is a memorial stone in Birmingham Cathedral St Philip's and the 2018 memorial sculpture outside of .

Was major services today at both venues, and the Christmas in Cathedral Square Craft Market was closed out of respect.
