Formed in Cagliari, Italy, in 2015, Plasticdrop is composed of Paolo Pani (lead vocals, guitar), Martina Manca (bass), and Alessandro Brundu (drums). The band members initially connected as teenagers, jamming in the same local studio while playing with different projects. Their shared musical chemistry culminated in Plasticdrop’s first live performance in March 2016.

In 2019, the band released their debut EP, Phenicopters, solidifying their reputation as a fresh force in the alternative rock scene. Following years of live performances and songwriting, Plasticdrop unveiled the first single from their upcoming album in October 2024, shortly before signing with Argonauta Records.

Plasticdrop’s sound is rooted in alternative rock, post-grunge, and hard rock, with touches of stoner rock and punk rock. Their new album reflects their musical evolution, combining heavy and melodic elements to craft songs that are emotionally charged and sonically bold. The lyrics delve into themes ranging from personal relationships and the isolation tied to their island upbringing, to broader societal critique and introspection.

US heavy psych and prog metal goldsmiths Howling Giant are set to reissue a 10th-anniversary edition of their self-titled debut EP this January. To celebrate the anniversary of what propelled these Nashville pillars of sci-fi and fantasy-driven psych-metal into the heavy stratosphere, this fully remastered version of the "Howling Giant" EP will also comprise three unreleased demos, a spoken word history on the beginnings of the band, a newly recorded cover, and the digital-only bonus track "WZRDLF Origins".

About the special EP reissue, the band says: “For the 10th anniversary of our self-titled EP, we wanted to reflect on our origin story. With this release, we included the original 2012 demos recorded during our time in Boston so that the listeners could hear the evolution of our sound. We’re very excited to repress the HG EP on vinyl, newly remastered by Tony Reed with a bunch of goodies on the B-Side. We recorded the original demo for Whale Lord as part of a mixing project in college. We booked the only available studio time (a 4-hour block from 2am to 6am) to record 2 tracks live and on the spot. From the witching hour, we brought Whale Lord and Tusk of the Thunder Mammoth into existence. We hope you enjoy comparing the original 2012 demo to the final product, recorded live in Tom’s bedroom. These are the tracks that started it all. The wizard lives."

Polish modern stoner/desert rock band MAW recently announced their signing with Argonauta Records. The band full new album 'The Humble Collapse', is due to be released on January 10, 2025.

The band have also revealed their new single and official music video for 'Still'.

Although MAW were born of a need to play massive stoner/desert riffs, they quickly incorporate some of members' common inspirations. You can hear drives of Color Haze or Causa Sui, the energy of Down and Alabama Thunderpussy with some Sleep-ish layers. But what is most important is that you can hear Maw in the first place.

Fronted by legendary singer, poet, and artist Mark Hennessy from grunge band Paw, Godzillionaire is known for creating focused music equal in ferocity and lovelorn sensitivity and bringing raging, emotionally intense live performances. Hennessy is joined by Ben White (guitar), Michael Dye (bass), and Cody Romaine (drums) in creating music with focus and intention, rooted in human experience.

Godzillionaire first received worldwide attention with the inclusion of their songs "Absolute Zero" and "Excommunication" in the film "They Come Knocking" (part of Hulu's "Into the Dark" series) upon request of video director and long-time supporter Adam Mason (Alice in Chains, Cradle Of Filth).

Their upcoming sophomore album "Diminishing Returns" sees the band exploring new, intriguing, yet familiar sonic territory, perhaps the most eclectic release of their career. It will be issued in various vinyl editions, CD digipack and digital on January 17th, 2025 on Ripple Music.

Kansas City-based heavy psychedelic trio MOMOVUDU has officially signed with Argonauta Records, marking an exciting new chapter for the band. Combining rich layers of psychedelic blues, stoner rock, and doom metal, MOMOVUDU channels the raw energy and atmospheric spirit of the American Midwest.

Founded by Matt Watkins—vocalist, guitarist, and original member of stoner rock heavyweights Wo Fat—the band is rounded out by the thunderous rhythm section of Nate Keirsey on bass and Brent Richards on drums. Together, they craft a sound that is both immersive and electrifying.

Swedish heavy rock and metal merchants Temple of Discord (with members of Wytch) have signed to Ripple Music for the release of their debut album "In The Ashes" this February 21st, and unveil their first video for "The Reaper" today.

Initially the personal creative outlet of Wytch guitarist Mattias Marklund, TEMPLE OF DISCORD quickly became a full-fledged band during the pandemic years, with a cast of seasoned players joining the adventure, which eventually led them to sign to Californian label Ripple Music. Dark and brooding, yet beaming with a multi-faceted appeal, their music explores a wide array of genres including classic heavy metal, alternative and grunge rock, dark folk as well as progressive rock. Marklund's vocals are intense and heartfelt, leading the instrumentation to uncharted emotional territories while constantly remaining on the verge of reaching fever pitch. From intense riff-driven bursts to semi-acoustic lulls, this album provides a gripping and unique experience for anyone listening.

"In The Ashes" is a dark exploration of the human psyche, mortality, and existential dread. The album delves into themes of death, self-destruction, and the chaos of inner demons, and explores the inevitability of mortality ("The Reaper"), the consuming nature of obsessive love ("Closer", "Black Out the Sun"), and the despair of self-inflicted pain ("Razor Me"), while also confronting guilt and the repercussions of violence ("The Fields"), and the search for identity amid self-loathing ("Someone Else"). YAWNING BALCH, the jam-driven project formed by Californian desert rock pioneers Yawning Man and Fu Manchu guitarist Bob Balch, announce the release of their third album "Volume Three" on HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS this February 21st.

Yawning Balch is the collaborative and endlessly creative outfit uniting Californian guitarist Bob Balch (Fu Manchu, Big Scenic Nowhere) and desert rock progenitors Yawning Man, incarnated by guitarist Gary Arce, drummer Bill Stinson and legendary bassist Mario Lalli (also Fatso Jetson). Their dreamy and jam-driven psychedelic rock journey started in 2023 with the release of "Volume One" and "Volume Two", a two-volume set carved out of a five-hour jam between Balch and the trio in the Joshua Tree desert. Hailed as "a mesmeric aural experience" by Classic Rock Magazine and "a masterclass in cohesion and dynamism" by Everything Is Noise, this expansive and blissful sonic journey will continue with the upcoming release of the third chapter "Volume Three" in the winter of 2025.

About "Volume Three", Fu Manchu guitarist Bob Balch recalls: "When Gary Arce mentioned that Yawning Man was gonna record and we should do another round of Yawning Balch jams, I was super stoked. I’ll always jam with those guys. Once the invite was extended I knew I had to drop some money on new pedals (laughs). Not that I don’t have enough already, but jamming with Yawning Man means you have to build a massive pedal board and try to get the most “out there” sounds you can, or at least that’s what it means to me. Another aspect is once we start jamming, I like to improvise riffs but keep them in mind so I can return to them throughout the jam. It was an honor to share a few hours playing with those dudes and I’m always surprised how much material we get out of it."

Founded in Rome by Pootchie and Datio in A.D. MMXVI, FVZZ POPVLI is a power trio that delivers heavy fuzzy riffs in a straightforward and no-frills fashion. They play a wild blend of Black Sabbath-style heaviness, a rough garage punk band attitude à la The Stooges, and 70s psychedelia.

The band released their debut EP in May 2017 with a promotional tour in Italy, Switzerland and Germany. In June, they signed to PSYCH SOUNDS for the release of their debut album "Fvzz Dei", which has brought the band to more than 70 European stages in eight countries including the revered indie festival Duna Jam. In 2018, FVZZ POPVLI released their second album "Magna Fuzz" followed by 75 European shows with appearances at festivals such as HPS Fest, Le Grand Incendie, Berlin Swamp Fest and Tabernas Desert Rock Festival. In 2019, the band signed with indie label Retrovox and released their third studio album "Fvzz Popvli III" in March 2023, supported by four European tours.
