In August I finally decided I wanted to get Laser Eye Surgery done. On the 23rd August I went for my consultation to see if I was eligible for it and look at how much it was going to cost. Lucky for me, I was! We were sent away with all the information, possible surgery days if I wanted to proceed and the associated costs and I decided before we got home that I was going to have it done! Got home and called Optical Express and booked my surgery day there and then.
Fast forward 6 and a half weeks on the 8th October it was my surgery day! I was very apprehensive about lasers in my freaking eye balls but after speaking to a couple of colleagues at work about it and they said it was fine I felt a little better! My surgery went well, a little bit of a scary experience going blind for a short while during the actual surgery (don’t worry sight was restored quite quickly although felt like an eternity). Immediately after surgery my sight had improved (I couldn’t believe it). I was advised to just go home and sleep it off which is lucky because I was in quite a bit of pain when I got home but after a 2/3 hour nap I woke up to minimal pain!
The next day, I had to go back for my 24 check up and I was already above the driving standard and already at 20/20 vision, again with minimal pain!
3 weeks later and my eye sight is perfect and…. ITS A PERMANENT FIX! I’m so glad I opted to do this and if I had to do it again, I would do it without a shadow of a doubt! It’s made such a big difference not having to wear glasses 24/7.
TL;DR got my eyes fixed, no pain during surgery, pain after surgery, napped for 2/3 hours and after I woke up minimal pain. 100% worth doing and would do it again.
