December 22, 1965 - 2025: 60 years of: Thunderball.

The West gets thunderstrucked.

The prime antagonist organization in revenge and extortion finally has the upper hand. From gold digging to nuclear annihilation, from jet-pack to jet-ski ...James Bond prevents a global blackout.

SPECTRE dominates, as they rob two H-bomb warheads, both repurposed for US and UK targets. Built under the shadow of October's 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, racing against time and underwater in Nassau, the entire MI6 works around the clock to prevent the inevitable escalation. Thunderball's thriller also reveals one of the World's most ruthless man ...SPECTRE #2: Emilio Largo.

The movie-soundtrack is blessed by one of show-business's biggest asset: the title-track "Thunderball" sung by Tom Jones.

Décembre 1995 - 2025: 30 ans de: To Live… In This World Of Chaos.

Météo Hiver '95: une tempête chaotique.

Durant l'état altéré de 1995, la vague deathmetal s'empare de la Belle Province. AGONY, HIDDEN PRIDE, NECROTIC MUTATION et l'horreur de GORELUST ...ça fesse fort chez les boys. Et en direct de la twilight-zone d'Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, une meute rumine la haine. Mutation morbide entre le punk et le deathgrind, tassez vous les gars, voici les louves de November Grief.

La tension monte pendant que le doom de "Veil Of Disgust" dévolue en assaut-nucléaire. Le saignement abonde sur "Infanticide", les bombardements offensif de "Requiem (For Mother Earth)" et la consommation impulsive de "Exit Life (With China White)".

Complètement dément et délivré avec précision, le grind abrasif de "T.W.O.D." rage pendant que diamétralement, le message doomdeath est clair comme de l'eau de roche sur "Grass Is Gold". FTW et DIY !

Suite au démo Evil-Ution de 1994, la machine de guerre roule à plein poumon. Malheureusement, suite au coquet carnage de To Live… In This World Of Chaos, mis à part l'apparition brutale sur le DC-compilation Awakening Females In Extreme Music de 1997 ...il n'y aura pas de suite.

Mais surprise en 2020, la potion de NOVEMBER GRIEF: Stéphanie Masson et Annie Leclerc annonce une réunion. Plus t**d durant l'année 2025, le band est en en pleine création, avec un nouveau jeune line-up moderne. Forever in November.

December 5, 1980 - 2025: 45 years of: Made In America.

"Were them guys from the Union ??"

Following the movie madness and instant worship, the boys would stay true ...and hit the road. Burying disco six feet under and rockin' and bluesin', The Blues Brothers are made in America.

Hard hittin' with "Who's Making Love", the jailbreakin' "Riot In Cell Number Nine" and the forever cool of "Green Onions". Smooth sailin' with the lovable "Guilty" and the equally r&b "Perry Manson Theme".

Now led by Paul Shaffer, the band crisscrossed the Red, White & Blue with pride and attitude. This would be the original BLUES BROTHERS last tour ever, as tragedy would struck Belushi in March 1982. The band would later reappear, with various line-ups and eventual 1998 return to the silver-screen.

December 3, 1990 - 2025: 35 years of: What's The Truth ?

BANZAI !

After many sick thrash nights, these Japanese extremists would take form: S.O.B. ...a Sabotage Organized Barbarian. From putrid punk to crazy grindcore, this is one dearly celebrated nuclear blast.

An East-Coast mosh builds-up on "Over The Line" and "Repeat At Lenght". Eventually, the chaos explodes on "Unseen Terror", "Never" and the insanity of "Why ?". Crossover get over-driven, as "Meddlesome Heart" and the fast "Look Like Devil II (Hell)" sets the pit afire. Pure terrorizing riffing and terrorizing hyperblasts.

Influencing the genre, the Osaka tornado would befriend with NA**LM DEATH. After a string of demos and 1989's Thrash Night EP ...S.O.B. was at peak position. The band would later release the deathmetal influenced 1993's Gate Of Doom CD.

December 1, 1975 - 2025: 50 years of: T.N.T.

Changing the course of history.

Still very under the radar, after February's High Voltage LP, 1975's calendar-year would now be completed with a heavy dose of T.N.T. Ear-protection required: here's the explosive big balls of AC/DC !

Raw rock, as the dreaded message "It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock 'N' Roll)" rings truth aloud. With bag-pipes and attitude, these boys aim high. Pure dynamite, as "High Voltage" electrifies, "Rocker" ravages and "T.N.T." blasts us outta space. A cult is hatched on the slick tension built-up of "Live Wire", while the shameless shuffle of "The Jack" might be the coolest blues double-entendre ever put on tape.

"Oy ! Oy ! Oy ! Oy ! Oy ! Oy ! Oy ! Oy !"

Safely put aside Trinitrotoluene, the real formula is: Scott / Young / Young / Evans and new eventual long-time drummer: Phil Rudd. Originally released only for the Australia + New Zealand territory, the damage was lessen ...but this factor would soon change.

Now inked to Atlantic Records, the mid 70s was about to get their videos blown off. AC/DC's 1976 powerage shall includes High Voltage LP's Western release, featuring repackaged T.N.T. material, and later Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap LP ...to worldwide acclaim.

November 1985 - 2025: 40 years of: Carnivore.

Chew NYC alive.

During the nuclear speedmetal assault, some punks would overkill the Big Apple. Dwelling deep inside the underground, the raw mosh of CARNIVORE is now a crude reality.

Air-raid sirens wail, as the "Predator" rises. The brutally romantic speedmetal band's title-track for "Carnivore" is towered by the 6'8" Steele, while the fatality of "World Wars III And IV" are hand-delivered under strict DEFCON 1 protocol.

Caught between chains and blood, these wounds are lived through "Male Supremacy", a barbaric macho-mosh. The repulsive crossover of "Legion Of Doom" and the deicide of "God Is Dead" rules with pride.

"Did you cum, I eat and run I live for so**my."

Straight outta of the Ice Age, in full viking gear, this unique squad killed without kindness. Hardcore-metal with powermetal choruses. Another speed-punk smear would appear with 1987's Retaliation LP. Yet ...through sub-zero temperatures, this infection would rapidly morph into the slow, deep and hard TYPE O NEGATIVE.

Permission to rock: granted !

During 2004-05's revival swing, hardstuff was flying off the shelves. Silent for too many years, Great Britain's hottest ticket now shun bright lights on stage, hail The Darkness.

Snort it !

The Gates are now open for business, here's your "One Way Ticket". Rocket fuel runs wild inside rocknroll's veins with "Knockers", while the AC/DC-ish "Is It Just Me ?" wonders. The widen pupils of "Hazel Eyes" bursts, as more electrified blood makes all the "Girlfriend"s dance ...every inch of 'em ...keytar included.

A crude rock-party breaks all the rules of decency, in some "English Country Garden", while the arenarock anthem "Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time" paint the Forums of the globe.

2003's Permission To Land CD rocked and now they rocked harder. Hardrocknroll is here to stay and THE DARKNESS supplies the lovely goods. Sadly the excesses took a tool and Justin Hawkins's rehab-vacation would split the band. But like any monster, our rocknroll Godzilla would bounce back later stronger and louder, with 2012's Hot Cakes CD.

November 26, 1990 - 2025: 35 years of: Dark Recollections.

The seed for a new regime.

It's 1990, deathmetal was on the map and Sweden was the focal point. A raw tone chews death and spits it out ...a total CARNAGE.

A carneous cacoffiny, from the hard rockin' "Dark Recollections" to the massacra of "Torn Apart". A violent ecstasy bursts on "Infestation Of Evil", while the hemophiliac "Deranged From Blood" lays the foundation for this new sub-genre of extreme.

Already defunct by 1990, CARNAGE's impact on the scene is imminent. From the production to the frontal attack, even with a short life-span, the engraved tombstones are proofs of their immortal signature on the Scandinavian scene.

Out of the ashes of CARNAGE, elements of the dissolved unit would spring back into the following cult:
- Matti, David and Fred would merge into the massive killing capacity of DISMEMBER.
- led-virtuoso Michael would rot with England's CARCASS.
- Johnny would become, for a very short-time, singer for ENTOMBED.
- and ex-singer Johan would later bounce back into action, with the first incarnation of ARCH ENEMY.

The seed is sown, hail Swedish Death-Metal ...a true carnage.

November 1990 - 2025: 35 years of: Iced Earth.

The other shade of Tampa.

Florida's deathmetal counterpart, aside from SAVATAGE. Building on the legacy of Eurometal giants, a new American trooper shall lit the scene. Hell froze over ...here's the power of: ICED EARTH.

The Force is strong, as the band's title-track for "Iced Earth" and "Written On The Walls" ravage with pride. Clever licks and strong metal is fully present on the menacing "Funeral" and the equivalently dark "Colors", while the intricate "Life And Death" treks in between both states.

After 1989's well received Enter The Realm demo, a contract was sealed with upcoming Century Media Records and the burnt offerings came to fruition. During America's powermetal-less era, ICED EARTH's pure creation shall shine through the 90s drought. A heavymetal purgatory.

Second album, second singer, the band shall step-up the game with 1991's Night Of The Stormrider CD.

November 20, 1990 - 2025: 35 years of: Heartbreak Station.

Next Stop: rocknroll.

Tappin' and rollin' since 1988's Long Cold Winter LP, the rhythm of CINDERELLA would now officially break away from hardrock's terminal: Sunset Strip.

Slide-guitars builds-up and explodes into "The More Things Change". Hot rockin' to both "Sick For The Cure" and "Love's Got me Doin' Time", this is a serious experience. Rhythm 'n blues shines on the powerballad title-track of "Heartbreak Station", while the MTV devil-friendly boogie "Shelter Me", is a cool track about the hypocrisy of censorship.

CINDERELLA always provide bad attitude rocknroll shuffle.

Back from Moscow, the height of American hardrock was at an all time high, yet living on borrowed time. Still RIAA-certified Platinum, 1991 would be the last breath for the genre, as fans and the industry was waiting for the next big thing.

Don't know what you got, 'till it's gone. The band would later issue 1994's Still Climbing CD ...the final CINDERELLA story.

November 18, 1985 - 2025: 40 years of: Walls Of Jericho.

Breaking the walls.

1985 is afire. On both fronts, this is a trans-Atlantic assault. The USA was ripped to shred by thrashmetal, while deep in Germany's trenches, a new found power arose. After Spring's self-titled Helloween EP, the race was on full RPMs, now in Autumn ...it is time to celebrate HELLOWEEN.

The trumpets calls-out the glorious Ones. Built on the rage of fellow countrymen ACCEPT, the bursts of "Ride The Sky", the "Guardians" and "Heavy Metal (Is The Law)" shakes the Old Continent to a pulp. Speedmetal with unison harmonies.

Acidic metal-riffing strikes on "Phantom Of Death" and the self-explanatory "Metal Invaders". Flag-waving arenarock shines under "Gorgar", while the snakey "Reptile" venoms the scene without shame. A mean metal-meltdown.

The New Wave Of German Power Metal, a commando featuring RUNNING WILD, GRAVE DIGGER and the arenarock of SINNER. And from Biblical Walls to metal melodies, HELLOWEEN provides the foundations for rock-solid powermetal.

Just like Judas ...and before the gamma ray attack, HELLOWEEN shall elevate the standards into a new era, beginning with 1987's Michael Kiske-led Keeper Of The Seven Keys (Part I) LP.

The birth of an icon.

Before the influential MC-ing and the movie-star status ...it all started with his radio. Armed with rhyme and poetry, a lonely kid from Long Island loaded with fresh attitude ...James Smith become LL COOL J.

A hot driven party, betcha "You Can't Dance" to this sick rhythm. The serious hammering continues with "Rock The Bells", the lethal "Dangerous" and extra punch of "That's A Lie". Cool as ice, daddy's not so angel "Dear Yvette" gets a reality check, while LL reminds us proudly that "I Can't Live Without My Radio" ...a hard krushing groove.

In a post Sugar Hill era, the business-mindset of Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons's Def Jam Records would spear-head underground urban rapping ...right into college dorm-rooms. Def Jam and L.L. COOL J, two pillars in this new street movement, real public enemies.
