Hello world! In the silence between our initial launch and now Naush Sabah and I () have been putting together two issues of , all the while witnessing our world change rather quickly! But even in such events, we have been determined to press on, as it were. So, submission for the Pallina Pamphlets will open just a few days from now on the 1st of June and remain open until the 31st of August 2020. You can find the guidelines on our website, and do ensure you follow each one!

Also, speaking of our website, it is quite the stunner and you should really dedicate some time to perusing it. You'll find everything you need to know about who we are, our ethos, our origins, as well as the archive for and a little teaser of what Issue 4 has in store.

Speak to you all very soon, and do take care in the meantime!

We are delighted to announce that Poetry Birmingham is shortlisted for Best Magazine in the 2020 Saboteur Awards!
On this very day last year we sat and lamented the fact that Birmingham did not have a poetry magazine—the nation's 2nd city; how? Why?! And we decided then and there to change that and so Poetry Birmingham was born. One year on, and we find ourselves with these three beauties under our belts, a 4th issue on the way, and our very own Pallina Press publishing the journals. To be shortlisted for a Saboteur Award? That too for Best Magazine? Positively decadent.
Naush and I would love to thank all our readers, our contributors, all our loved ones for their support. Voting will open again on Sunday, April 19 so keep a look out for links - a win is almost in reach!

Suna Afshan and Naush Sabah are so proud to launch Pallina Press!
Pallina aims to works exclusively with poets who live and work in Britain, in order to develop a close, careful and collaborative editorial relationship with the poets they publish. Pallina is committed to the art of poetry and to producing beautifully designed, high-quality books for readers to enjoy and for poets to be proud of. Pallina is seeking out the attuned, experimental and authentic; poetry to both please and provoke the editors, readers, poets and critics.
Pallina warmly invite submissions particularly from poets facing structural and institutional barriers to publication; submissions for the Pallina Pamphlet Series opens 1st June 2020.
