Live music in the Covid era is a weird thing. Bought tickets a while ago to see live music today. Really it was only one duo we wanted to see, and so we see it as paying for them, with two free support acts. Yesterday afternoon we found out the duo we wanted to see couldn't do it as one of them had Covid. One of the supports couldn't make it either, so virtually the entire bill changed.

Because I'd already purchased the tickets, and the event was going ahead, we couldn't get a refund. So we sat and watched three acts we had no interest in. They were decent enough... well, two out of three. I just wouldn't have paid to see them.

So now we'll only buy on the day, which doesn't really help the artists and if too many did that, gigs might get cancelled due to poor sales. Not sure what the answer is though. I feel for musicians and promoters, because it is hard out there.

Day 30 - a song that reminds you of yourself

We've reached the end, and I've saved the best to last. This song is my spirit animal (yeah I know, just go with it). When I heard this one for the first time, I knew Steve's music was going to be a big part of my life going forward. I didn't quite think he himself would become a big part of my life too, but I couldn't be happier to have him (and his family) as a friend.
