Last week wasn’t tricky because it was full of lows.....

It was tricky because it was full of wins… and I don’t always know how to sit with that.

I’ve never been the person who naturally shouts about my achievements. I admire the people who can do it with ease... maybe ease is the wrong word - they possibly find it just has tricky as me but like I know, it's important to acknowledge the wins. They perhaps have got over themselves (I'm working on me!!)

So I’m much happier in the background, quietly making things happen... cheering my clients on, creating content that helps them shout about their wins.

But when it comes to doing it for myself… I freeze. šŸ™ƒ

Here’s what I could (I say could as it's less committal, see what I'm doing?) be shouting about right now šŸ‘‡

-A client winning an award for a marketing campaign (see photo of the man himself, BOB toy and Becky of course!) I worked on (and they’re already up for another).

-Another client taking home two awards in the same week.

-My content appearing twice on the feed of someone I genuinely see as a celeb in the dog world (huge deal for me).

-Ads I ran for a launch that converted beautifully and felt like a win for us both.

Instead of shouting, I felt overwhelmed. Thankfully, I had Rikki to talk it through with and she reminded me that it’s okay to pause and just feel proud… but also wrote some posts and included me in them which I’m so grateful for as I was a bit stuck. I wanted to say it, but couldn’t.

And maybe that’s the point?

Because if you ever feel like you don’t have the words, or you’re not sure how to celebrate yourself online without feeling icky… I get it.

That’s why I believe so deeply in a softer, anti hustle approach to marketing. One that doesn’t pressure you to be loud if that’s not who you are. One that still celebrates the wins, but in a way that feels aligned and doable.

So maybe this is me practising what I preach… taking a moment, saying it out loud, and reminding both you and me:

-You don’t have to shout to make an impact.
-You don’t have to hustle to grow.
-You just need marketing that feels like you.

I’m now wondering though... do you find it easy to celebrate your wins online, or do you freeze like me?

PS I think you should shout your wins.

Let's pretend it's not a week into October already... šŸ˜†I'm a teeny bit late with these but hope they help! šŸŽƒ

As a millennial in the thick of the social media world, I’ve seen what burnout looks like.
I’ve lived it.
And I’ve also stepped away from it.... intentionally. 🫶

I’ve built a business supporting pet professionals with their socials…
But I don’t push hustle.

I don’t believe your worth is measured by your follower count or how much content you pump out.

You can take breaks.
You can opt out of trends that don’t serve you.
You can show up in a way that protects your peace and grows your business. šŸ§‘ā€šŸ’¼

Because soft business isn’t lazy.
It’s wise. It’s sustainable. And it works.

If this resonates, you’re my kind of person. šŸ¤

I'm beyond chuffed that two of my awesome clients have been nominated for a flurry of PIF awards 🄳🄳

Working with both these brands is a dream. They're committed to making life better for dogs and their customer service is off the charts.

I consider myself very lucky to be a part of their marketing team alongside Christi at Paws On Social

Ever feel like you’re constantly playing catch up with social media?

That’s exactly why I created WoofWire – a free WhatsApp group for dog business owners who want to stay in the loop without drowning in noise.

Think…
āœ” Quick weekly updates
āœ” No faff, no fluff – just the good stuff
āœ” What’s trending (and what’s not worth your time)

It’s not a chatty forum or a time-suck. You get your updates, dip in when you want, and that’s it.

It’s free. It’s low commitment. And it’s made for busy dog people like you.

I don’t post these graphics to stir the pot (honestly, drama is not my thing).

But I’ve had a couple of DMs lately (okay, three!) asking why I share posts about positive dog training. One even said they couldn’t work with me because of it.

Here’s the thing... I’d rather be upfront about my ethics and the kind of people I work best with. If we’re not a match, that’s cool! I’ll happily point you to someone who is your match.

In the meantime, I’ll keep sharing colourful, positive posts that make me smile… because I’m not here to attract people I don’t want to work with. You get me? šŸ™‚

September’s a fresh start for a lot of dog guardians – new routines, new challenges, and a great time to get back into training.

This list is here to help you show up without overthinking it. šŸ™‚

Some of the best advice I’ve ever been given? šŸ‘‡
Surround yourself with people who see your potential and want you to win.

Not the ones who just cheer when it’s easy…
but the ones who hold space for you when it’s messy, overwhelming, or you’re doubting yourself.

The right people will...
• Remind you why you started
• Hold you accountable (in a kind, safe way)
• Celebrate every small win
• Give you the nudge you need when you’re stuck

I’ve learnt that the company you keep can shape how far you go.
And for me, being around people who lift me up isn’t just nice to have... it’s non-negotiable.

Who’s in your corner right now? šŸ’¬

One for my R+ peers!

Positive doesn’t mean permissive.
It means thoughtful. Intentional. Boundaried.
It means teaching with clarity, not control.

There’s no shame in being kind.

We recently heard this...

ā€œI’d love to join Underdogs Unite, but I can’t afford Ā£60 a month – even if it sounds brilliant.ā€

And yes, Ā£60 a month is a lot when you’re not 100% sure what you’re getting…

But here’s the truth – inside Underdogs Unite, you’ll get the clarity, tools, and support to finally make your marketing work for you. So you start seeing real progress in your business growth and stability.

Right now, you can join for just £30 a month for your first 3 months.

Why 3 months? Because real change takes time. I want you to have the chance to build momentum, try things, and see the difference for yourself.

If you show up, take action, and tap into the support that’s waiting for you, I’m confident you’ll be in a much stronger place in 3 months.

Then you get to decide if you want to stay. No contracts, no lock-ins – just marketing support when you need it.

But if you never step inside, you’ll never know what could have changed for you.

Get 50% off your first 3 months šŸ‘‡

Running a pet business and showing up on social media comes with a few truths that aren’t always easy to hear.... but knowing them can save you a lot of stress.

This isn’t about knocking the platforms or making you feel deflated.
It’s about being realistic so you can make smart choices with your time and energy.

Because yes, social media can help you grow. But it’s just one piece of the puzzle. šŸ™‚

It’s worth thinking about šŸ‘‡

• How much of your creative energy you want to give to it.
• What’s actually working for you, beyond likes and views.
• Where else you can connect with potential customers who will really value what you do.

Social media will change. Trends will shift. But if you approach it with a clear head, a plan that feels sustainable, and a focus on your bigger business picture... you’ll protect both your results and your sanity.

You’ve got this. 🐾
