We ring in 19 years of doing our thing with a long-time favourite for all of us at Crilli HQ, and one of the most vibrant characters on the international DJ circuit. All the way from Brazil, it's DJ Marky!

Hailing from Sao Paulo, Marky is the spearhead of a Brazilan drum and bass movement which first rose to popularity in the early 2000s. He was already a well-established touring DJ when “LK (Carolina Carol Bela)” made dancefloors smile ear to ear with it’s infectious, feel-good latin guitar hook. The track peaked at number 17 in the UK charts and is a standout moment in DNB’s history books, spawning a whole wave of samba sampling DNB in the process.

Marky is regarded by many as dnb’s true showman. When he steps behind the decks he has a smile and larger-than-life stage presence that can light up any room. Someone with a fierce reputation on the Technics 1210s, he is renowned for his dizzying scratch routines and turntable party tricks alongside killer selections. His reputation extends well beyond the dnb confines as a cult favourite across the wider clubbing world. Not many dnb DJs get to share a stage with French house legend Laurent Garnier, after all.

Reaching almost 30 years in the business, Marky continues to release, collaborate and tour the world, spreading that liquid sunshine wherever he goes. He’s a regular collaborator with the likes of Makoto, S.P.Y. and Pola & Bryson, with close allies in everyone from V Recordings main man Bryan Gee to Belfast hero Calibre. Essentially, if there’s a big new tune around, Marky is going to have it.

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate our birthday than by bringing the latin heat to Belfast for a night of musical sunshine and good vibes. We’d love you all to be there and quite frankly you’d be mad to miss this one.

Thanks so much to everyone who braved the insane weather to welcome Jayne DJ Storm back to Belfast. We had an ace night and we hope you all did too.

Friday 6th December at Ulster Sports Club, Belfast

It's our final event of 2024 and we cap off another year of great nights at USC with a true cornerstone of DNB visiting Ulster Sports Club and Crilli for the first time - DJ Storm.

The title " The First Lady of Drum and Bass" is not earned lightly. Someone who's been there almost from the very beginning, Jayne Conneely aka DJ Storm has been a trusted member of Goldie's Metalheadz crew from the mid-1990s. A frequent flyer who continues to visit many of the world's best clubs and festivals on the regular, she is renowned for her dark and unrelenting DJ sets which showcase the best of both worlds - the Metalheadz classics which defined an era, coupled with the freshest sounds from the leaders of underground drum and bass in the modern day.

Storm's DJ Kicks mix compilation alongside her late friend and DJing partner Kemistry continues to be considered one of the premier drum and bass mixes of its time, whilst more recent online sets for the likes of Keep Hush and Boiler Room have brought her skills and selections to light with a whole new generation.

Jayne is a very special DJ with a reputation which spans way beyond dnb. It'll be a true honour to host her at Crilli and we can't wait to hear what she plays in Belfast on this visit.

Last Saturday was a monster! A True Playaz legend, on three decks over 90 minutes, banger after banger at breakneck pace. Sports Club didnt know what hit it.

We hope you all had a great night, thanks for the huge support turning up en masse to welcome this scene legend to Ireland for the first time.

Scott - wow - that's how to do it! A pleasure to meet you and see you play Belfast. Don't be eating that soda bread raw 😂

Shout to Bockee for the great warm up set as well. The perfect intro for the evening.
