STILL TIME TO SIGN UP For 15th Anniversary Scalp Walk - Hike Of Hope!
Volunteers from across the county will be lacing up their walking boots, packing their sense of adventure and asking families to join them on Sunday June 1, 2025, for a special 15th anniversary of the much-loved annual Scalp Walk to raise funds for Concern Worldwide

The newly named Hike of Hope up stunning Scalp Mountain is a family-friendly charity challenge walk in support of families around the world who are experiencing conflict and displacement.

As access to the route is on private land, this is a unique opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views of Derry City, the town of Buncrana, Lough Foyle, Lough Swilly and Inch Island, as well as taking part in an exciting event to support communities in
some of the poorest countries in the world.

Thanks to the generosity of the Scalp Mountain trail owners Henry and Michael McLoughlin and the family, free car parking will be provided at the start of the route.

Alongside the wellbeing benefits of the walk in the wild natural beauty of the area, a highlight this year will be a special kite-flying session at the summit with free kites provided for children. Four-legged family members are welcome to come along and
enjoy the fun too, as long as they stay on the lead for the duration.

Gather up your family and friends and be part of something meaningful this June 1. Isabel Brennen, Concern’s Community Fundraising Executive, added, “If you can also use this opportunity to fundraise for us by asking for sponsorship, you can set up a free online fundraising page when you sign up for the event at
