We caught up with some of our wonderful clients yesterday - and I managed to get one photo (with Conor Sanchez) the whole day! Too busy catching up on all the fabulous things that have happened this year.

We stopped in at The Lyric and saw James Martin’s portrait up close. It’s stunning!

We then went to see ‘Belfast, Actually’ at The Theatre At The Mill and it was BRILLIANT!

Very funny, festive, entertaining and well worth a visit.

The cast are having the best time, so we end up having the best time!

Amazing singing, laugh out loud moments and pure Northern Irish humour!

One of the world’s most prestigious short film festivals, HollyShorts, is hosting a very special event tonight in London.

In attendance is our client James Martin who has just been presented with a special Trailblazer Award.

The award recognises James’ pivotal role in ‘An Irish Goodbye’ which led to him being the first star with Down Syndrome to win at the Academy Awards.

Congratulations also to the recipients of the HollyShorts Honoree Award Tom Berkeley and Ross White, who won the Oscar in 2023 for ‘An Irish Goodbye’ which they wrote and directed.

Not one, but TWO of our clients (who also trained at The Shelley Lowry School) have now appeared on billboards on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, California ❤️

On the left is Solomon Horta who can be seen in Disney’s holiday short ‘The Boy & The Octopus’ on Disney+ now! Be sure to tune into BBC Newsline and UTV Live later to catch Solomon being interviewed about his time working with Oscar award winning director Taika Waititi.

On the right is Jude Hill who appeared in the Oscar winning movie written and directed by Sir Kenneth Branagh. Jude now lives in the US where his career continues to go from strength to strength.

Very proud that both young actors trained in our acting classes in Portadown.

Two very fine actors bumped into each other at The Shelley Lowry School studio this afternoon as they prepare for their respective auditions!

Solomon Horta (who can be seen in Disney’s Holiday short ‘The Boy & The Octopus’ on YouTube - currently with 3.7 million views) and Ezra Carlisle (who has just wrapped on the feature film ‘Learning To Breathe Underwater’ which also features Rory Kinnear. Ezra plays the lead role of ‘Leo’.)

These two young actors have a great future ahead of them.

We are very proud to say that they both take acting lessons at The Shelley Lowry School in Portadown.

A 10-year-old boy from Co Armagh has spoken of his “one in a million opportunity” after being selected to star in a Disney Christmas short which has gone viral.

Solomon Horta was chosen from a long list of children to star in film director Taika Waititi’s festive ad called The Boy and the Octopus.

A Unique Kind Of Magic ⭐️

The Boy & The Octopus now has just over 2.5 MILLION views on YouTube ⭐️

“One of the biggest challenges the team faced was dealing with the unpredictable elements - particularly when shooting underwater in Mallorca. On the day, the waves turned out to be larger than expected. But both Taika and the lead actor handled the situation with aplomb. “It added an extra layer of complexity, but Solomon, our young actor, was incredible. Despite the unpredictable conditions, he was completely focused and resilient. With some encouragement and direction from Taika, Solomon was able to nail the shots we needed for the opening of the film. His dedication and ability to stay calm in such a dynamic environment really brought the scene to life in a way we hadn't anticipated. It was a truly memorable experience that added a sense of authenticity and excitement to the film.”
