Did you listen to our latest Leaders Who Love What They Do episode with Mick Williams
Mick is served by a set of strong values and invaluable life experiences and typically, gets things done by creating the conditions to allow others to succeed.
He thrives when driving the four ‘engines’ of purpose, change, governance and delivery, all with a constant focus on the people context. It is important to Mick to be able to influence society positively and he seeks out people, organisations and projects that share his values.
Mick has just returned to freelancing in order to build more choice and variety into his professional life, with a new mantra of ‘work less, work better’. He is rarely happier professionally when the people around him grow, develop, and succeed, and he hopes that a little of that will rub off on his own professional experience.

Here is a snippet from last week's podcast episode with Sarah Haddon.
She reflected brilliantly on what makes leaders successful and in particular what they need to be focussing on right now as the work place changes rapidly and leaders find themselves in new territory.
You can download and listen to the full episode in the link below and I would love to hear your takeaways from this conversation.
Here is a short sample of yesterday's Leaders Who Love What They Do podcast.
Does this resonate with you?
The interesting thing about this response is that the ambiguity is in fact, acceptable and that we rarely look at ourselves or in others.
We rarely look further for the real causes of feeling either overwhelmed, tired, or overstretched, or perhaps needing to show our worth, or in fact, actually enjoying having that amount of work and enjoying the busyness.
We also lose the chance to really look at our own hamster wheel and we lose that we lose that opportunity to look at it in detail and perhaps very honestly as well. And that's understandable because getting off the hamster wheel isn't always very easy. Firstly, I think it can take some time between realising the need for change. And then being ready to take the plunge.

For me, this has certainly been the case and I’m so grateful to those people who continue to support me in my rather squiggly career!

"Knowing yourself is true wisdom!"
This is a powerful quote and the word "wisdom" stops me in my tracks. I'm not sure if it is wisdom, but I do believe that self-awareness is key to leaders and their success with their own career development and how they lead others.
We know that by developing self-awareness, you can tap into your strengths, learn more quickly, empower others more easily and communicate better. By building in self-reflection as an automatic thought, it's easier to make decisions, communicate with empathy, to correct quickly when you make mistakes - all of which contribute to better leadership, better results and a happier workplace.
If you'd like to know more about the impact of self-awareness on high performance and wellbeing for leaders and their teams, please visit our blog.
Are someone who loves or hates setting personal goals?
Clients often tell me that they they don't enjoy this period of year of the time of the year, when there's there's quite a lot of pressure to make resolutions for the year ahead.
They feel they are making them in the knowledge that they're not going to keep them. And so feeling that sense of failure from the start, it's certainly not fun, and it's definitely not motivating!
If you are wanting to make effective and achievable goals this year, then you will find this recent podcast episode very useful!
