Final recording session for Triggered Velocity!

Today I'll start mixing the album, all thirteen tracks!

Another busy few days.

OfficialRylee return to make the last changes to their EP.

Simon from The Mighty Flux does the final guitar overdubs on the guitar that he modified for me!

The Headless Way came to start the guitars on his next project.

And, Glenn Goring come in for three sessions. He asked me to edit some videos and then master the guitar recording. All this was then exported as one video.

Sweet.

4 days recording with RYLEE - Brooke, Lewis, Thomas and Fin.

An absolutely fabulous session with tight, talented and enthusiastic players!

I still have the mix to do, but it's sounding heavy already.

Working on the mix for a new The Headless Way track today.

The new mixer has a neat trick where it can switch to controlling the channel volume in Logic. Super handy for balancing guitars that have multiple mics! Certainly can't do that with a mouse!

Super happy with having two sets of overheads and putting the new mixer through its paces!

A busy week.

Glen Goring came in a couple of times to work on his album. He prefers to work about 3 hours at a time and start late morning.

This is quite convenient as it gives me a 2 hour slot to work on my commissioned writing before his session!

And Samantha came in to record a voiceover for 'Naked Bars'. A really interesting session where I got to witness an advertising agency direct the recording on a Zoom meeting.

I've been working with Glenn Goring again today.

This time we tracked picked acoustic guitar with Logic's automatic tempo tracker. This function will produce a tempo map of a live recording allowing us to add synchronized rhythm parts to a recording made without a click track or drum part!

A great sesion! Masie's song had a vintage Soul feel, so we experimented with different types of saturation and dirty plate reverbs to capture the correct vibe.
