The Love the Vale Business Directory is brought to you by Bro Radio, the local radio station for the Vale of Glamorgan. If the previous year and a bit has taught us anything, it’s the value of community cohesion. The pandemic brought community to the fore, with local people going out of their way to support others in need, and a real focus on local business developing, with many looking beyond the

bright lights and vast fascias of the supermarket for the first time in a long time, and trying out the small, local businesses in their area. The Love the Vale Business Directory aims to seize on this support and help local businesses thrive, by pulling all of the needs of the Vale consumer together in one website, so should a Vale resident need either a butcher, baker or candlestick maker, they can simply enter their search and choose their preferred option. We want to shout about the vibrant, brilliant and highly-skilled high streets, side streets and home enterprises here in the Vale of Glamorgan. The Directory offers local businesses the opportunity to promote themselves to potential customers in the Vale, encouraging them to . Businesses are also able to purchase a premium listing to support the work of Bro Radio, which features their business top in searches in their town, village or category.

Earlier this year Llantwit Major Town Council was given the go ahead of a National Lottery Fund to create a community garden at Stradling Park.

The Town council’s ambition for the project is to create a garden accessible to all that will include not only an area designated for planting but also a community area for skill sharing and learning, a wildlife space and a sensory area.

We are now looking for volunteers from the community and local organisations to help us develop and nurture Stradling Park garden. No skills in particular are required just willing helpers.

Come along to our open day for a chat and a piece of cake.
