two months left of 2024!? 🤯

time to look back on another fun month 👻

1. we celebrated Coastin’s one year anniversary!!
2. had so much fun shooting content with The Sheep Show
3. enjoyed an incredible fire & feast weekend with darkswan
4. opened a job role for Coastin’s first employee 🥳
5. a very special weekend in bath 🤍
6. filming in tunnels for darkswan 😆
7. paul completed the confident presenter course & is currently doing a business masterclass!
8. sea swimsss (of course!) 🌊
9. starting to make progress on Coastin’s tiktok page
10. a big fat lovely thank you ✨

I still can’t believe it’s been one year of Coastin! like everything in life, it’s had its ups & downs, but it’s been an incredible journey and having all of your support along the way has been the cherry on top, so thank you 🫶🏻

we see so many people and businesses posting on social media just to tick the box for the day ✅

consistency is key, and that’s amazing if you’re able to do that! but it’s not so amazing if it’s taking up too much of your time without delivering results.

last october vs. this october ✨

I’d be lying if I said that I’m surprised by how far Coastin has come in a year, because this is exactly where I wanted Coastin to be.

but what I will say is that I can’t believe how far I’ve come in a year. from completely hitting rock bottom to throwing myself into the business, I never imagined I’d be where I am today – and I’m truly loving this stage of my life.

the hardest part was blocking out the noise of doubt from others, picking myself up after every ‘no’ (and trust me, there were a lot of them), and trying to navigate the world of business with no prior experience.

social media? I knew I could do that. but running a business?! that’s been a steep learning curve! every day has been a school day, and it always will be

despite all this, it’s been my favourite year ever, and I cannot wait to see where this all goes (I already know where I want it to go, so I can’t wait for you to see it🤭🤍🫶🏻)

thank you to every single one of you who has supported & shown so much love for Coastin. you have no idea how much your support means to us!

one year in 😆

3 things I wish I’d known (part 1):

networking 🙂 – honestly, I had no idea there were so many networking events out there! it felt like a whole new world at first, and super alien, but now it’s something I really enjoy

burnout 🤓 – I expected it, but I wasn’t prepared for how much I’d need to actively take care of myself to avoid getting run down so often!

sacrifices 😅 – if you’re starting a business, make sure it’s not just about the money. do it because you love it and are genuinely passionate about what you do 🫶🏻

there are so many more I could add to this list – not just things I wish I knew, but lessons I’ve learnt in Coastin’s first year 🌺

none of which would have stopped me from starting Coastin 🌊

fire & feast weekend ❤️‍🔥

one of the main reasons I started Coastin Media was to work with brands, companies, and charities I’m truly passionate about. when you do that, you also get to meet and work with some incredible people!

that’s exactly what it’s been like working with DarkSwan 🖤

we’ve had the most amazing weekend – even though we were working and filming content, it never felt like work!

and to top it all off, everyone managed to raise a hugeee amount of money for Serve On 🙌🏻

tomorrow marks ONE YEAR of Coastin Media 🥹

and before we announce a very (very!!) exciting giveaway for you all tomorrow, I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on what a crazy year it’s been 🤍

from sleepless nights, complete burnout, and crying about not getting new clients, to working in uganda, taking on our own office space, and signing some incredible clients… it’s been one hell of a journey

but I wouldn’t change any of it, especially when I see those ‘early days’ photos and see how much I’ve grown. Coastin has stretched and pushed me in so many ways, but without all of the challenges and hurdles, I wouldn’t have become the more confident version of myself that I am today. my younger self would be so freaking happy

lastly (wow, this really is a speech), thank you to the man who made all of this possible. without you, dad, Coastin would have been a side hustle or just a dream.

so here’s the truth…

I’ve been wanting to share this for SO long! 🤍

I often felt like a fraud whenever someone said “you’re smashing it” or “you’re doing so well,” because for a few months, that just wasn’t the reality 😅

what I didn’t mention in those slides is that I had just moved out and was starting to pay rent, so we really needed to make this work!

I constantly want to be as real and transparent as possible with you all, and during that time, I felt like I could burst. but now, I can finally share that we’ve come out stronger on the other side! 😆

I honestly had no idea what I was doing at the start when it came to pitching to clients. I had no idea what questions I would be asked, what their expectations were, it was a hugeee learning curve!!

fast forward to today, it’s such an awesome feeling when I finish a potential client call knowing I answered with confidence and could back up what I’m saying with evidence!

every day is a school day, that’s for sure 🫶🏻
