A week on and both emergency access phones are still in place

:-)

Faith in people in the community doing the right thing goes a long way
we are looking at upgrading the boxes now with solar chargers, better boxes, signage with contact numbers

We're also trying to add more phone boxes to each bridge we need the communities help to achieve this

So we ask please donate where you can and share fair and wide.

So we are looking at updating the way we charge the emergency access phones on the bridges and
Aiming to add more to each bridge

To do this we need your help

We're looking at solar panel chargers for each box

We are looking for sponsors/donations to do this

While on the way to bideford this morning we have checked both boxes and we can happily say at this time bother are both there

Although Primitive at the moment, it is there for use for those in distress if needed.

We hope no one ever needs it but it's there if they do..

The 2ed emergency access phone box is now in place on the torridge bridge in Bideford
(In the middle on bidefod side of bridge)

There for use if in distress

All we ask is once used its replaced and box closed fully.

We hope these don't get taken as they are there to save a life.

So we've been working on a little project in the wings with media news SouthWest. TIME TO SAVE A LIFE!

After a recent incident of a young person falling from the A39 torridge bridge in Bideford

We have always had a bit of an issue of feeling helpless as Bideford and Barnstaple bridges

Have samaritans posters saying we're here free call, talk to us..

Yet unfortunately not a single phone to use.

ARE AIM IS TO CHANGE THAT.

for both Bideford and Barnstaple this week (day to be shared)
there will be a cheap mobile phone on
Both bridges
In a clear waterproof box. Clearly highlighted the only number that can be called will be the samaritans and 999

The mobiles are the very cheapest we can find. But we hope our community's will leave them where they are so we can provide a last attempt of saving a life..

Your mother,father, bother,sister,family member and your child.



We would love for a permanent free phone on both bridges as a last attempt to safe a life..

We would love to put more boxes on our bridges for this we need your help.

Update as of 14.00 the young woman has survived and remains in hospital at this time...

A39 Bideford Bridge closed both directions! (Time 22.15) Police there.

Bridge is shut there is at least 10 police cars 2 fire brigades 2 ambulances and the housing estate under new bridge is all shut

Coast guard also on there..

Helicopter also searching

Our thoughts and prays are with all involved

Confirmed 1 casualty fell from hight..
