Commemorating the 100th anniversary of WW1. Many are familiar with the ever popular poem, 'In Flanders Fields' written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae during the first World War. The poem tells of the fields strewn with crosses where fallen soldiers had been laid to rest. The opening stanza states 'In Flanders fields the poppies blow, Between the crosses, row on row,'. These words form the foundation on which this music was composed. The music pulls on the varying emotions one might feel if you journeyed through the fields and will leave your audience in little doubt of the sadness, bravery and honour, which those who fell in the Great War endured. Disney’s remake of the 1991 animated picture gave the chance for composer, Alan Menken to add new music to the already popular soundtrack. In the original film, it was felt the Beast was missing any major feature song. This was put right with the live-action remake which became an instant global hit. Now arranged by Adrian Horn for Euphonium and Brass Band, this is a great new modern solo that will find favour with audiences of all ages.

The Covid pandemic brought heartbreak to so many, across the globe, yet our NHS Staff & Workers held the front line and gave their all. This year, we celebrate 75 Years of the NHS. This piece gives both players and audiences a chance to reflect on their hard work, bringing together moments of sadness, interspersed with moments of celebration in a piece of music filled with emotional highs and lows, felt by many of the hospital and care staff who worked tirelessly to keep our people safe. Music has for centuries being used to keep our spirits up and the music ends with a timely nod to Vera Lynn who passed away in 2020. This uplifting work is dedicated to the NHS staff & Care Workers.

Few people have not seen the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder as the eccentric chocolatier, offering tours of his chocolate factory to those lucky enough to find the hidden golden ticket. Whilst initialy a box office failure, the film went on to become a favourite in households across the world, years after its initial release. Now for the first time, your band can enjoy the music from the film in this selection that includes 'Golden Ticket', 'The Candy Man' and of course, the unforgettable 'Pure Imagination'. The music of Leslie Bricusse & Anthony Newley has been a hit for many years and continues to make TV and radio appearances. 'The Candy Man' was perhaps best known when covered by Sammy Davis Jr where it made it to number one in the USA. 'Pure Imagination' has been used countless times in adverts in the media and more recently, recorded by Jamie Callum for his album 'Momentum'. 'Pure Imagination' can also be performed as a stand-alone item. This is truly an all-time classic filled with a feast of musical variety that fits well into just about any concert. On Cloud Nine is a wonderful new concert opener; a vivacious four-minute concert item full of energy and good humour. It begins with a majestic fanfare-like statement. This opening melodic idea re-appears in various forms throughout the piece. The following themes are sometimes a little quirky with fantastic band parts for all players to enjoy. The piece is meant to convey a deep sense of joy which bubbles relentlessly to the surface no matter what else threatens to dampen it. The music is overwhelmingly optimistic in spirit and fun to play as well as listen to.
