💡LOCAL SPOTLIGHT! 25 Years of Befriending and Changing Lives!! 💡

Roisin Scullion, a local dedicated volunteer who has spent 25 years helping to combat loneliness through her work as a befriender with Praxis Care in Northern Ireland. Roisin has been a lifeline for many, offering companionship and emotional support to those who feel isolated. Whether it’s a chat over coffee, a phone call, or a visit, she brings a sense of connection and joy to the lives of others. 💬💛

🌟Roisin’s story highlights the incredible impact a small commitment can make. She gives half an hour of her time each week, but the difference she makes is profound. "You get just as much out of it as you give," Roisin says, reflecting on the friendships and life lessons she’s gained from volunteering.🥰

❓Feeling lonely or want to make a difference? Volunteering can be a great way to connect with others and help those in need.

👉Visit FindHelpNI.com to explore local organisations that you can contact for volunteering opportunities or find support services if you're struggling with loneliness.

Together, we can help build a more connected and compassionate community. 🤝💙

🌈 It’s ! Why Does It Matter? 🌈

Trans Awareness Week is more than just a hashtag—it's a chance to shine a light on the issues, stories, and voices of transgender and non-binary people in Northern Ireland and beyond. But why is it important for us at FindHelpNI to join in? Because raising awareness of the services, organisations, and resources available to trans folks or those questioning their gender identity can make a world of difference in improving mental health and well-being in our communities

💬 Support matters: If you offer services or resources for trans folks, add or update your info on our FindHelpNI directory—so your support can be easily found by those who need it.

🏳️‍⚧️ Join the conversation: Explore services at FindHelpNI.com and help us build a network of acceptance and care. Everyone deserves the chance to live their truth!

📣P.S. We also want to Spotlight💡Trans in the City UK (who created these graphics) a non-profit led by trans and non-binary people. They work to elevate Trans and Non-binary people in the workplace by raising awareness, sharing contacts and best practice, providing role models and speakers, and providing consultancy and training!

🌟 This Anti-Bullying Week, let’s take a stand together and Choose Respect — from playgrounds to online spaces, from our homes to the workplace.

👉Be Kind — Small gestures of kindness go a long way.
👉Use Polite Language — Say "please" and "thank you".
👉Respect Boundaries — Honour personal space and limits.
👉Be Inclusive — Value everyone’s opinion and include others.
👉Give Constructive Feedback — Be positive and helpful, not hurtful.
👉Acknowledge Efforts — Recognize and appreciate others' contributions.
👉Apologise When Needed — Take responsibility for your actions.

We see bullying in our families, the workplace and in our communities. With approximately one child in every classroom experiencing bullying it's especially important that we explore this topic with our children. We all can play a part in reducing it by leading with respect, kindness and empathy. Let’s create a world where everyone feels safe and valued, even when we disagree. 💛

💙If you or someone you know needs support, visit FindHelpNI.com. You’re not alone. Ask for help with the impact of bullying whether in the past or present. 💬

It's Men's Health Awareness Month! is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's su***de. Will you be joining in? Find out more about the Movember campaign here ▶https://uk.movember.com/

❓Why do we need to raise awareness? Men experience disproportionately high-rates of su***de, with death by su***de being the biggest killer of men under the age of 50 in the UK.

📊Our stats tell us, that we aren't reaching enough men via our social media, and that FindHelpNI.com is used by far less men, than women! We can't reach them on our own!! We all have partners, fathers, brothers, sons and mates that we care about...💔

🚨Can you help? If are an organisation that raises awareness for, or supports men, please consider sharing about FindHelpNI.com

➕If you work for or know of an organisation that supports men please do encourage them to sign up to the directory!
