This might shock you, but want to know what the biggest problem I’m finding with small business owners on socials is? Their mindset🤯

I’m finding they’ve heard 53468 different things they NEED to be doing. They’ve tried something once and it never worked so they just gave up. They don’t know where to even start. Stress. Panic. Comparison🥵

& im here to just let you all know…

Your social media is as unique as your business. It’s not a one size fits all. There is no ‘perfect’ way of doing things. Done is better than none. Your biggest road block is not the platform, it’s you. It’s not a marathon, it’s a walk💪🏼

So just breathe😮‍💨

This platform is here to BENEFIT you, not BURDEN you & if it doesn’t feel like that - then you need to make a change☁️

Unfollow people who make you feel stressed & panicked about social media - this isn’t healthy🙅🏽‍♀️

Don’t listen to EVERYONE - if you wouldn’t ask for their opinion, don’t take their advice🤝🏼

You’re better trying & failing than not trying at all. It’s not a loss it’s a lesson🫶🏽

Start with the basics. Stop trying to run before you can walk - we all have to start somewhere📍

What works for them, won’t work for you - so just stay in your own lane & focus on yourself😮‍💨

These social platforms are FREE. They owe us nothing. So just give yourself some grace to keep trying. I’m always trying & testing, learning & adapting because that’s how you learn and grow (and I’ve been doing this over half a decade!)🫣

You can’t expect the flower to grow, if you never planted it in the first place🌷

Yep, if you can’t tell, I’m feeling super blessed and on cloud 9☁️

I wanted SNAP to be somewhere small business owners felt heard, understood and seen in an industry that seemed so overwhelming and confusing… and last night it was just that! 🤌🏼

A group of small business owners who all had the same issues, confusion and fraustrations with their socials and they left feeling heard, understood, excited and enthusiastic on how to use their social media to grow their business 👏🏼👏🏼

I feel so blessed this is my reality🥹

I love honesty yet recently, I’ve not been very honest with myself so here it is…🤍

I can’t do it all. I can’t be it all & the only person that expects that of me, is me.
(I still don’t believe this but I’m working on it)🫣

I feel like I need to say ‘no’ more, yet when I do, I feel panic that I’ll run out of work.

I feel the need to constantly stay ahead yet feel like I missing out on the now.

I know I need to rest, yet when I’m meant to be resting I feel guilt for being off.

You never want to complain because ‘busy’ is a blessing, but you feel ungrateful when you do talk about it.

I started this business to find balance & flexibility around my health and to put my wellbeing first yet my needs feel bottom of the pile🫠

And the thing is this has been the best decision of my life starting this business. I love it, but boy it can be hard when you feel like you’re in it alone.

None of this is a newsflash, but I think talking about how we feel as small business owners is incredibly important because we’re not naive to the fact that socials are a highlight reel, but honest conversations about how we ACTUALLY are doing are few and far between🤝🏼

You maybe needed to read this today too because this is my way of holding myself accountable to this cycle of thoughts❣️

No one has it all together. Everyone goes through seasons and we’re all just doing our best. You aren’t falling behind. Remember why you started. You can’t do it all & be it all.

One day at a time🫶🏽

🤯a MIND boggling question for a lot of you who run a business… but let’s actually use it to reach our goals. ✅

The most common answers I hear are…
“because I feel I have to be on it”
“because I was told to be on it”
“because I don’t want to be left behind”
“because I understand the importance of using social media in today’s times”

and all these answers, aren’t your why.
they’re your because & how do you expect to reach goals easily if you don’t even know why you’re doing it in the first place.

Example: “Tori, why do you go to the gym?” “Because everyone goes to the gym” - NO. That’s hardly going to motivate me on a cold, wet & windy 7am morning. Instead “I want to be able to improve my strength & cardio”. Now we have a goal to keep us working towards.

So your why for socials could be:
💻To build a strong, loyal connection with new audiences
💻To showcase my products and use social media to get feedback from my audience
💻To generate sales & conversions from people who can’t reach me in person

🤌🏼THESE are the WHY’s that will keep you focused on your bigger picture. THESE are the WHY’s that will help you reach your goals. THESE are the WHY’s that on the days you can’t be bothered, you’ll value the importance of doing them.
