Hi folks, the time has come and I've no option but to increase the cost of rehearsals in the studio.

They've been the same for over 22 years.

Times have changed. Huge increases in the price of gas and electricity is the main reason but there's many others.

As of Saturday 1st March this year, the new cost will be as follows:

A standard 3 hour rehearsal for a full band ( 3 members or more ) is £40. 00

Duo, 2 people, for a 3hr rehearsal is £30.00

Solo, one person for a 3hr rehearsal is £15.00

For full bands, 2nd or 3rd rehearsal in the same week as your 1st is £30.00

Any questions, fire away.

Rest assured this increase will not only save us from closure but allow us to improve the equipment and expand the facility, making it a really great space to come to.

Hi folks, bad news on the event unfortunately 🙁
My 10 year personal license expires next year but apparently i need to refresh it every 5.
I resit it on the 10th Oct (earliest I can) then I can apply for the event license which takes 4 weeks.
Missed the Halloween date.
Burst ye.
However, once things are in place we intend to do an event that will eclipse anything we've done before 🤘
The future's bright.

Hi folks - finally got the problem with studio page resolved - for the past few months I haven't had any access to the page.

Sincere apologies to anyone that has been inconvenienced by this.

Also, thinking about doing another big event in the studio - possibly a Halloween Bandwagon (likely Sat 26th Oct). If any bands, DJ's, duets, quartets, french horn ensembles or solo artists are up for it, give me a shout on here.

Hi folks, as you know the rising costs of gas and electricity is affecting all business's and unfortunately the studio has had to make some difficult decisions which we've no doubt will upset some of you who come in on a regular basis.
The new rules are as follows :
1. Any band who cancels their rehearsal on the same day it was booked will be rounded up in front of the studio and shot by firing squad.
2. Any drummer who is caught stealing felts will have all fingers and toenails pulled out with pliers.
3. Any guitarist found to have turned the gain level to maximum will be strung up by the testicles on the lamppost in front of the studio, for a minimum of 24 hrs.
4. Any vocalists caught stealing, swinging or dropping a mic intentionally will be fed to a pride of lions in the blue room.

Seriously though, at some point we're gonna have to raise the prices, been holding back for a while now.

In a few weeks time it'll be our 20th anniversary. June 2002...What a blast it's been 🤘
Thousands of bands, Dj's, soloists, artists of all ages and all genres, from every corner of the Shire and beyond have been through our doors.. and we've loved every minute.
It's been a pleasure and a privelage to be involved in a go to place for local musicians and we hope to continue improving and rocking for the next 20 years🙏🤘😎
A massive heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who's walked through the door... you've made it happen 👏

Weirdly, the bands that practice more tend to be the bands who end up really tight, get the good gigs and have a better chance of getting anywhere, it's unbelievable.

Good evening Live music lovers of the shire, we'd just like to clarify a few things regarding the studio... incase you don't know...no money or wages are paid by the studio.
All work is done on a voluntary basis.
It's a limited company where no one takes dividends and any profit is reinvested in the studio.
For any band using the studio for the first time, it's free.
Rehearsal slots are only 30 quid for 3hrs, any other rehearsal in that week is 20 quid, to encourage people to jam more and make the band tighter.
The studio doesn't provide guitars, straps, pedals, leads, picks, cymbals, high hat clutches or sticks, but if you forget them or need them don't worry, we have them here and we'll sort you out, we've never charged a penny for any of these things.
Booking slots early,, turning up on time, not going over your time and tyding up before you leave is a good start in making your evperience in the studio more productive. We see you.
Don't steal the mics or felts 👍
If you're a regular in the studio you'll know that borrowing a drum kit, a bass amp, a guitar amp, a head, a coupla mics for the gig at the weekend.. it's all free of charge, we try to help you and encourage you to do well.
Any drummer, guitarist, vocalist, anyone on their own can rent a room for 3hrs during the day, 9am - 6pm for a tenner.
If you've never been, if you've even remotely considered it, get yourself down here and start doing the thing you've been putting off, the thing you would love more than anything, the thing you've just never got round to... it's here, it's free and waiting on you... incase you don't know.

With two rehearsal rooms open, recording back in full flow and the front of the studio timber lined in cedar, things are looking better.
We'll be focusing on events soon, Bandwagon, Zombie nights and loads more.
Our main aim of getting the new venue and extension to the studio above board and licensed legally is still under way, hopefully we can update you on that soon 🙏
Until then keep on rockin, take it easy, roll with it and we'll see you very soon X

Nothing's cast iron these days but it looks very likely the studio will be opening again on Monday 26th April.

Hope you're all looking forward to the return of live events, bigger and better than ever, when it's finally safe to do so. I personally can't wait.

Life is just not as exciting or full without live music and no one's looking more forward to getting the show back on the road than us.

At last we have a reopening date, Tuesday 4th August.
We've considered the possibility of opening sooner and decided to err on the side of caution.
Thanks for your patience and your support, it's much needed and very much appreciated.

Certain measures will be in place, sanitizer stations, distancing markers etc
We recommend singers bring their own mics if possible, if not we'll be supplying pop shields free to singers to use and maintain until guidelines change.

It would help a lot if bookings could be made as much in advance as possible during this time. It would also help if bands could turn up for rehearsal together, where possible.

Ultimately we want you to enjoy yourself and feel relaxed when you're here as always, we look forward to seeing you all again and can't wait to get the show back on the road.

Who fancies getting the band together, blowing the cobwebs off and having the best jam you've had in ages?

We're hoping to open in a few weeks although this could change either way. Vague I know but rest assured we'll be open as soon as it's safe to do so.

It's very likely that when we do re open practice will be limited to one band per night initially.

It is with great sadness this morning we have to let you know that on Thursday this week, John Findlay, our drum tutor, passed away.
John had a seizure and hopefully had no pain or awareness.
Such a tragic and heartbreaking loss, John was a kind, nice guy with an amazing talent. He will be sadly missed.
Our hearts go out to John's mum Christine, his family and his friends at this time 💔 x

Thanks to everyone who shared the Ayr Advertiser post! Loads more folk now understand the predicament we are in.

The awareness created has led to interest from investors and an offer to have the plans we need drawn up.
Things are looking positive.

Many of you have suggested a crowd funding page to raise the funds we need and loads of you have offered to help in any way you can.
Thank you!

We would like to make it clear that we have no ill feeling or resentment towards South Ayrshire Council.
We fully understand and accept that the safety of the public is paramount and that the correct health and safety, fire and security measures need to be in place.

The main part of the studio, the rehearsal rooms, recording suite etc has the correct regulations in place, The change of use for the building and the certificate of lawfulness, both approved by the council.
The fire alarm, emergency lighting, cctv, security alarm, fire extinguishers, sounders, flashers and signage are all in place.

Any profit from this summers Bandwagon event will allow us to complete some of the health and safety, fire and security regulations within the venue area, the new larger performance space we've built.

We've asked licensing for Saturday 30th May for the event and are waiting on confirmation, we'll confirm asap.

Any bands, DJs or artists who would like to play at this event are more than welcome to get in touch. Anyone who already has, we'll be in touch very soon.

In the meantime we'll be doing our bit to secure the studio / venue as an important and essential part of our wee touns live music scene.
We thank you all and especially those who jam here regularly, bands who have recorded here, folk who bring their kids for tuition and last but not least the punters, the crowd, the audience, the visitors, the folk who come along and support the musicians, the studio and the local live music scene.
