The last of the Chocolate Frogs

As was said on last week's Fish on Friday and mentioned a few times in recent months the Chocolate Frog Record Company is closing it's doors next March immediately after the UK tour.

I will no longer be manufacturing albums and the last production run was in October when the final pressings of the 'Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors' and 'Internal Exile' deluxe sets were delivered to Germany for the tour.

Currently as of a week ago I had 1300 'Vigils' and 1600 'Exiles' deluxe versions between the Holland , Germany and here in Scotland.

The fishmusic.eu store is now closed and www.fishmusic.scot is now the only place to buy albums.

I had most of the albums on the merchandise stall on the 32 date tour and by mutual, concent between M&E and myself we decided that after the tour the store would cease to operate. They have fulfilled any outstanding orders and I am bringing the remaining stock back from Holland to sell through the fishmusic.scot website.

To give you an idea of some of the remaining stock on some titles I have only 538 '13th Star ' deluxe and 217 triple box set albums, there are less that 800 each of the 'Vigil' and Exile' double vinyl albums, and 174 of the 'Feast of Consequences' triple vinyl box set.

On the remasters there are 335 'Field of Crows' , 675 'Fellinis' ,568 'Sunsets', '403' Raingods and 524 'Suits'. 'Feast ' is sold out as is 'SFTM'.

The live albums I have 57 'Moveable Feast' left , 268 'Farewell to Childhood's' and 850 'Vigils End'

'Last Straw' and 'Weltschmerz' deluxes there are more than enough but any surplus will be destroyed when the company is closed down.

There will be no more repressings of any titles.

To put this all into context

I will be playing to around 20 000 people across the 15 shows in February/ March.

Between the UK tour merchandise stalls at the venues and the 'pop ups' stalls we plan to have on tour as well as the existing www.fishmusic.scot mailotder service, that is being run by my daughter Tara until the doors close in March, I am pretty confident that everything will sell out before I call it a day.

This is a heads up for anyone who still wants to buy physical albums either on CD or vinyl as there are no current plans to move the catalogue to another label.

I can be certain that the existing remasters and deluxes will never be duplicated by another company. It's the end of an era and the last of the Chocolate Frog releases.

They are all available now at www.fishmusic.scot together with the tshirts and hoodies we will be selling on the UK tour.

As I said on last weeks Fish on Friday we are plagued by high concession fees at practically every UK venue and the prices on the website will be around 20% cheaper than they will be in the venues. I am hoping to get 'pop up' stores in the vicinity of every venue to sell without concession fees but I can't promise we will find them.

If you want to buy the new T shirts and hoodies then get them from Tara at the www.fishmusic.scot mailorder shop before the UK tour . She's being restocked at the weekend for all the missing sizes as we sold out the stock we brought in initially a few weeks ago.
You can check out all the available designs on the website

It's strange writing this after operating and working the record company over so many wonderful years. I will be sad to bring it to a close but I will know there are thousands of albums sitting on peoples shelves and on players and decks all over the world which in the coming years will forever bring a smile.

take care and thanks to everyone who have supported the store over all the years, without you I wouldn't be here now

Fish x

The frogs will chant in the darkness
