CANET Show Welcome to CANET! Hi!! Welcome to the CANET show page. Culture And North East Theatre (CANET) does exactly what it says on the tin.

It's a show dedicated to the arts straight from the North East presented by me, Becca, on Lionheart Radio 107.3fm or online at www.lionheartradio.com. I am not a theatre person and I don't know much about this world so please come on this journey with me as we find out all about culture and Theatre. Find out the answers that you have always wondered about theatre like "why can't you whistle in a theatre?" or "why is it unlucky to mention 'The Scottish Play' by name?". I will also be (hopefully) chatting to some talented people from this industry and learning about upcoming events, playing theatre inspired games and more. CANET is a 2 hour monthly show on the first Tuesday of the month 3-5pm broadcast live from the Lionheart Radio studio in Alnwick, Northumberland. Canet is currently on an Interval due to Lionheart moving to a new location.

RANDOM RADIO FACT:
I was actually wondering why this day was sticking out to me. This status just came up on my own FB page. I had my first ever solo(ish) show on this day back in 2009!! Long before Canet was even a thought. Crazy times!!

!4th September 2009:
"hey guys am on a high coz 2day was the first time ever i have tried presenting my own show there is usually sum1 in the studio with me but thats gonna stop i hope! i managed about 35 mins 2day next week gonna aim 4 an hour or maybe the whole show"

Anyway I still want to continue the Bust That Book game so here is the first one. The same rules apply and you have to try and guess what it is, the only difference is I won't be giving the answer on the show. I will you the answer on here on the 7th Of October.

CANET ANNOUNCEMENT:
You may or may not aware that Lionheart has to relocate to a bigger premises so I had a think about Canet's future because of this reason. I thought about the reasons why Canet existed in the first place and realised it maybe hasn't been used in the way I hoped it would be. I have had a few guests talking about their projects but I thought I would have a queue as I have recently realised that the Arts is having a very difficult time in the North East area and I honestly thought this show would help more than it has. Having said this though I am very much enjoying exploring the Arts and Culture world from an outsiders point of view and sharing what I've discovered with you. Also this world is so huge that over the last 2 years of Canet we have barely made a dent in the surface so my original plan to stop the show has been scrapped but I will be taking a break from the airwaves. This is so I can come up with new ideas and have a break from constant planning but I'm not disappearing completely as I will be doing things on this page during the break. One thing I do want to do is a Live Q and A when the show should be on to answer any questions you have pretty much instantly. I am not able to do a live video so this will be through the comments section or messages only. I am still going to continue Bust That Book too. I also still am looking for more amazing guests for next year so if you are interested in talking about your projects on future shows please email: [email protected]

Well that show was a great way to end my time at the current LHR studios, it got extremely bittersweet at the end though. Announcement coming tomorrow. Thanks for listening today and I'm sorry again if I sounded like I was underwater. I had a cold yesterday and it's sticking to me :)

Plans for show 26 on Tuesday 1st September:
Normally I would have this done by now and a full show planned but I got back from Spain on Tuesday after having spent 10 days there and most of that time it was in the 30s so I think my brain may have melted!
Anyway, I want to share with you something I was terrified of as a kid but through Art I have managed to look at it in a veery different way. It's still terrifying but not as bad as it was when I was 12. I have also got some more random facts for you and some of them were quite surprising to me. I have also got an important Announcement about Canet. I still have half a show to plan so who knows what else could happen.
