This beautiful vintage Welsh wool tapestry batwing cape will be coming with me to tomorrow's Tuesday Market in Abergavenny. This is one of my favourite ever designs. It's called 'Tulip' by Brynkir Mill in Porthmadog near Caernarfon, North Wales. Sadly now closed. Love this olive green, black & orange colourway - perfect for Autumn. I've even got matching glasses cases too! Link in comments/story as ever.

What a lovely day in Abergavenny for the monthly Craft Market. It was super busy so thanks to everyone who popped in. I had a very exciting visitor this afternoon. The lovely Rhodri came to interview me for BBC Radio Wales. They're doing a rural affairs programme about wool, corresponding with National Wool Month & the 75 year anniversary of the British Wool Board. They asked all about me, my 15 years in this business, the Welsh blankets, the woollen industry & my love of Welsh wool. It will air early next Sunday am, the following Wednesday evening & on BBC Sounds so do give it a listen ❤️

I meet such talented people on my stall! I've only had a vintage Welsh tapestry coat with dragon buttons once before in 15 years & I sold it to my now good friend Jayne of Blodau A***n (link in comments) who is a silversmith. She said she was inspired to make something with the dragon design.

A few years later she posted a picture of a pair of cufflinks she had cast from them - on the very same day two separate ladies brought me in two different coats in but with the very same WELSH DRAGON buttons! Talk about timing!

The browny belted coat is an unusual shape & I'd say a size 12 to 14 but the teal green one is a large 18 to 20. I'll be bringing them both with me tomorrow for Saturday's Abergavenny Market ❤️

My own version of pick 'n' mix - Welsh fashion! I've been collecting vintage Welsh tapestry purses as long as I can remember. They are things of beauty not to mention useful! This is just a sample of my collection. My late Nan had one back in the day & a glasses case. They make perfect gifts too.

Do you remember them or did someone you know? Let me know in the comments below - I so love to hear your stories & memories? ⏬⏬️️⏬️

So I'm back for the Tuesday Market in Abergavenny. Lots of you asking about larger sizes & this size 18 coat has just arrived. Perfect for Autumn & to keep you nice & toastie warm.

I've got lots to choose from in all sorts of sizes & colours mostly 1960s/1970s. I love to see which shades people go for - it's always colour first. I'm a 'brighter the better' kind of girl but the biggest question is...

Are you a COAT OR CAPE girl? What do you think? Let me know below ⏬️ ⏬️ ⏬️

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY!!! I'm always asked if I sell outside of Abergavenny Market & there is only one place & one day of the year that I do - my favourite place in the world! Amgueddfa Wlân Cymru - National Wool Museum in Drefach Felindre, Llandysul SA44 5UP.

Myfanwy & I will be meeting up in my beloved Cardigan with my trusty apprentice for the weekend Sandra McCarthy. Looking forward to catching up with some amazing 'Woolly' traders too.

ARE YOU A BLUE GIRL? I'm busy getting ready for Saturday's market in Abergavenny tomorrow. These lovelies will be coming with me. The subtle blue & grey vintage Welsh tapestry coat with Raglan sleeves is I'd say a size 16ish. It's woven by the wonderful Trefriw Woollen Mills in the beautiful Conwy Valley. A family run mill since 1859 & sadly the last one in North Wales - so do go & visit. Or are you more of a cape kind of girl? This lovely one in blue & grey is an unusual colourway.

Let me know below in the comments which one you'd pick? ⏬️️ ⏬️ ⏬️

See you tomorrow💙

Back in the day we had around 300 working woollen mills in Wales & now we're sadly down to single figures! Most of the mills would have had a shop selling these gorgeous coats, blankets & accessories. This beautiful vintage Welsh wool tapestry pea/mod coat in deep pink & purple has just arrived & will be coming with me to the shop/stall in Abergavenny Market on Saturday. As ever I'll pop a link in the story & comments.

PS. Check out the matching handbag. Overkill???!!!
