It's Flea Market day in Abergavenny Market today where you never know what you're going to find. I'm not normally in on a Wednesday but my lovely friend Delyn is away. I've brought in this fab vintage Welsh wool tapestry cape with matching bakerboy hat. The traditional red, white & black colourway looks so Welsh doesn't it? How perfect is this for the upcoming rugby? I do need a longer belt mind you! On the stall today with loads of other bits. Flea Market Wednesday is always a great vibe although I will have to refrain from buying more than I sell! 🤣

I'm back from my little jaunt down West & it was no mean feat lugging all my Welsh blankets and coats back into the market hall today but I'm all set up & raring to go...
I'm always asked which side of a Welsh tapestry blanket is the 'right side' & my answer is always the same - there isn't one! The best thing about these beautiful vintage blankets is the unique way that they're woven so that they're reversible. This lovely Vintage Star bedspread is by Melin Tregwynt (one of the few remaining woollen mills in Wales) & my favourite of their signature designs. This one is in a lovely peachy coral pink colourway with more wedgwood blue, black as coal & off white on the reverse. Question is which one would you choose?

Take a walk on the Pembrokeshire coast! This week has been special in so many ways the Welsh coast has got to be the star of the show though. Following the runners & walked Whitesands Bay, saw seals & red kites at Abereiddy & the Blue Lagoon, enjoyed a coffee at The Shed Fish and Chip Bistro & a swift half The Sloop Inn, Porthgain not to mention the obligatory bag of chips in the beautiful St David's. One things for sure, we are so incredibly lucky to have all this on our doorstep. Wales - we love you ❤️

What an incredible few days & a massive privilege to play our small part in supporting this @itswhywerun ultra marathon (50kms per day over 5 days). So many favourite moments. The camaraderie & vibe before each day started. The views around the Pembrokeshire coast (I'll follow up with some pics of those). The talk given by Jeff & Chloe - the founders of Bigmoose charity. The sheer bravery of the runners who kept on keeping on. The fund raising update - over 70k at last count. The Welsh flag sported proudly by a runner. Or the moment the last runner came in & the sheer love shown to her in the group hug with Jeff looking on. Lewis Robling you & the team have created something very special & Lloyd Robling you made us all laugh as ever but mostly proud.

Can't remember the last time I got on a double decker bus but so glad I did! Hitched a 'Park & ride' from Carew into Tenby today to support IRONMAN Wales & what a fantastic atmosphere. The streets were lined with people cheering on the amazing athletes. I didn't know it was on this weekend & have always avoided it before but sometimes it's good to embrace how life rolls. So a heartwarming day here in Pembrokeshire & what a backdrop Tenby is. Tucked up in the caravan now with a warm cuppa. Absolutely drenched!

It's been a busy week in the Market Hall this week with lots of visitors from all over the world. I just love meeting you lovely lot & it's always nice when they say they follow my page. So thanks to everyone who popped in. The most common response when customers walk into the shop or browse the stall is 'Oh my God! It looks like my Nan's house!' Well it looks just like my Nan's too. That comment came up more this week when I put this beautiful vintage Singer hand crank sewing machine out pride of place. The number of people who opened it & shared a memory about their Nan, Grandma, Nannie, Mamgu, Nain, Grandmere was just so heartwarming. To my Grandchildren I love being 'Nanny Trev'! It's so fascinating- all the different names for a Grandmother. Would love a comment on what you call/called yours...

Been on a little trip down to Swansea for the day & had a stroll at Mumbles before meeting up for a coffee with a lovely couple who had a Welsh blanket for me too see. They had this blanket many moons ago for a wedding gift but never used it. I don't know quite what I'm going to get when I go on a buying trip but needless to say when this beauty was taken out of the bag I almost 'whooped' for joy! This stunning traditional Caernarfonshire portcullis design in olive green, burnt orange & black is a real colourful showstopper. It will be coming with me to the market tomorrow & I've just added it to my website (link in story) so can post within UK...
