Well gang, it’s one of those good news / bad news kinda situations I’m afraid....

The good news is we just signed a new 5 year lease on our building so we can all keeping rocking together for many a moon yet!

The bad news is that rent only ever goes up… and although we’ve done our best to absorb the ever increasing price of everything and keep our prices as low as possible in a post covid world, this time we have no choice but to share the increases with you all.

So from Monday 2nd of September these will be our new prices. It’s nothing drastic, only an extra 50p per hour each for rehearsals if you’re in a 4 piece band, so hopefully won’t stop any of you being able to rock out!

We were lucky enough to be asked along to the studio at Captain Toms the other week to shoot a video of us playing our song, “Hazy Afternoon.”
We had an awesome time and can’t thank the guys enough for all the hard work that has gone into it behind the scenes. Filming a song in one shot is not an easy thing to do but everyone absolutely nailed it.

Ah…. Blink of an eye and it’s happened again…. Happy Birthday to us once more!

Seems only a moment ago we were waxing lyrical about having survived for 26 years and yet suddenly here we are a slightly crusty 27 years old today!
I don’t think there’s a single part of anyone involved when the Captain Toms dream started on Dee Street way back on the 5th May 1997 that thought we would ever make it this far or that’d we’d achieve so much along the way…. But somehow we’re here waltzing bravely into our 28th year of keeping Aberdeen rocking 7 days a week and heading towards a mighty high score of 10000 days later this year! WTF??

As always, a massive thanks to all of you who have supported us and helped keep the dream alive over the many many years… it truly is a beautiful, unique and exceptionally special thing to be part of for all of us… You all know who you are and you all rule!

One of the slightly bizarre things about having a studio for so long is all the random stuff you amass along the way…. Such as the hundreds of broken mics we have that I somehow can’t ever quite bring myself to throw away… Perhaps because of all the passion and angst that have been expressed through them in their short lives… not sure… but they did come in handy for writing 27 with today!

It's been ace fun helping get Gio's by La Lombarda open this last few weeks!

Might seem like a totally random thing for a recording & rehearsal studio to be involved in... But we have a lot of fond memories of La Lombarda from 27 odd years ago when we were just getting the studio started... So it's great to be able to help bring it back to life!
