'What it Means to be Human' is the second in a series of four albums from Danish bassist Jasper Høiby’s 'Planet B', featuring saxophonist Josh Arcoleo and drummer Marc Michel, that focus on global topics of vital importance.
One of the tracks 'Life Force Seeds' features the words of Dr Jane Goodall DBE (featured in an interview on Krista Tippett's 'On Being' Podcast). Using the analogy of a seedling gathering strength to eventually break down the walls in her back garden, Dr Goodall highlights the unique power young people possess in the fight against the climate crisis. It's this wisdom along with other visionary thinkers Ruby Sales and Grace Lee Boggs, that features at the very heart of 'What it Means To Be Human'. We are incredibly grateful to Dr Jane Goodall and everyone at @janegoodalluk for participating in this project and allowing this message to be at the heart of the record.
