Quincy Jones went from eating rats to survive as a kid to producing some of the most influential music of the 20th century. He was a paradox : he was destined to be a learned orchestrator but he had a vision beyond and he went for it. He knew how to spot talent, and how to shape it for an uneducated audience. Eddie Barclay was the first person to understand that, many followed after him. What a success !
I was so happy to meet him once with Xavier Veilhan that I asked to take a picture, which I never do...

The infinite lives of "Nightcall" :
1. Originally released as an EP in 2010, "Nightcall" was produced by half of Daft Punk Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo
2. The song was discovered by Nicolas Winding Refn during his shooting of "Drive" and was immediately placed on the now famous opening titles
3. Phoenix invited Kavinsky and Angèle to perform a new version at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympics ; their vanity fair performance viewed by millions broke Shazam's record and due to popular demand, a 2024 "Nightcall" is now out everywhere !

Where is it going next ? Here's to many more unexpected Nightcalls…
