One of our contributors has set up a Facebook group exclusively for self employed tradespeople. It is not an advertising group, but a space for tradespeople to share their concerns with other tradespeople and get support to challenges faced by tradespeople.

NEW PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP SOLELY FOR TRADESPEOPLE

As a wife of a tradesman, I know only too well the challenges that a tradesperson faces on a daily, weekly, yearly basis. On top of a physical day job there are many other aspects of 'running' a business that can at times be overwhelming to say the least. By my husband's own admission, after a day on the tools, client visits for new work, coming home to research and prep up devis, there is not much left in the tank to do 'back office' admin: project paperwork on track, keep finances on track or promote his business and follow up on client reviews. Fortunately he has me!
While some trades may benefit from 'back office' support, many are left to juggle various responsibilities, especially as the year progresses, leaving them feeling worn out and eagerly anticipating the reprieve of the Christmas break. However, the truth is, as we approach 2024, the challenges left unaddressed in 2023 will persist into the new year.
To address this common struggle I have taken the initiative to create a private Facebook group exclusively for self-employed tradespeople – whether they are the ones on the tools or their partners are actively involved in the business.
This private group for fellow tradies offers a space for learning, support, and the exchange of invaluable experiences. Having successfully implemented processes and systems that have kept our business stable and on track, I am confident that they will benefit other tradespeople as well.
Whether you have been in business for 12 months or 12 years, there is always room for growth and adaptation. The world is evolving, and while your professional trade skills may remain constant, the way clients find you, their expectations, and how you present your business are subject to change.
“The ability to adapt to change is as essential as a reliable set of tools”
