Nelly s'enfonça dans son siège alors que l'avion quittait la piste de l'aéroport de Johannesburg. Elle ne pouvait s'empêcher de jeter des regards nerveux autour d'elle, s'attendant à voir l'un des hommes de David surgir à tout moment. La destination, Bogotá, en Colombie, représentait un espoir fragile et une course contre la montre pour retrouver Kevin Douglas avant qu'il ne soit trop t**d.

L'avion atterrit en Colombie au petit matin, et Nelly se hâta de quitter l'aéroport El Dorado. Elle se fondit rapidement dans la foule des voyageurs, essayant de garder un profil bas. Un texto de Simba attendait sur son téléphone : "Kevin est à l'hôtel Casa Medina, rencontre-le discrètement."

Nelly prit un taxi et donna l'adresse de l'hôtel au chauffeur. À chaque feu rouge, son cœur battait plus fort, mais elle savait qu'elle devait rester calme et concentrée. En arrivant à l'hôtel, elle jeta un coup d'œil attentif autour d'elle. Pas de signe des hommes de David, pour l'instant.

Elle se dirigea rapidement vers la réception. "Bonjour, je suis ici pour voir un ami, Kevin Douglas," dit-elle, espérant que le personnel ne poserait pas trop de questions.

Le réceptionniste, avec un sourire professionnel, hocha la tête. "Bien sûr, mademoiselle. Je vais appeler quelqu'un pour vous."

Quelques minutes plus t**d, une femme élégante descendit l'escalier. Elle se présenta sous le nom de Zenisha, l'avocate et le protocole rapproché de Kevin Douglas. Nelly se sentit soulagée de rencontrer quelqu'un de confiance.

"Zenisha, nous devons parler, et vite," dit-elle en l'entraînant vers un coin plus discret du hall.

"Que se passe-t-il, Nelly ?" demanda Zenisha, avec une calme assurance.

"Kevin est en danger. Des hommes cherchent à le capturer. Ils m'ont suivie depuis Johannesburg. Nous devons le prévenir immédiatement."

Zenisha hocha la tête, restant sereine. "Kevin a une sécurité hors pair. Ils ne pourront pas l'atteindre aussi facilement. Nous avons pris toutes les précautions nécessaires. Mais merci pour l'information."

Nelly, visiblement soulagée par la confiance de Zenisha, prit une profonde inspiration. "Où est-il maintenant ? Comment pouvons-nous le retrouver ?"

Zenisha sourit légèrement. "Kevin est à la 'City of Gold'. Pour des raisons de sécurité, il utilise plusieurs alias et se déplace constamment. La dernière information que j'ai indique qu'il est probablement à Dubaï."

Nelly hocha la tête. "Merci, Zenisha. Comment devrions-nous procéder maintenant ?"

Zenisha répondit calmement : "Je vais organiser notre départ pour Dubaï. Je m'assurerai que vous soyez en sécurité. Rendez-vous à la City of Gold, et là-bas, nous pourrons rencontrer Kevin en toute sécurité. Ne vous inquiétez pas, tout est sous contrôle."

Alors que Nelly et Zenisha se préparaient à quitter la Colombie, elles savaient que le voyage vers Dubaï serait décisif. La course effrénée pour retrouver Kevin Douglas continuait, mais avec Zenisha à ses côtés, Nelly se sentait plus confiante.

Nelly collapsed into the plush chair in her hotel room, her heart finally slowing after the frantic chase at the airport. She pulled out her phone to check the latest news when there was a knock at the door.

"Who is it?" she called, still on edge.

"It's hotel staff, ma'am. A gentleman found something that belongs to you."

Cautiously, Nelly opened the door. A man in his forties stood there, holding her passport.

"Hello, Miss Nelly," he said with a warm smile. "I found this on the ground earlier and thought it might be yours. I hope I'm not disturbing you."

Nelly's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh my God, thank you! I didn't even realize I had lost it."

The man handed her the passport and introduced himself. "My name is David. I noticed you seemed a bit stressed earlier. If you don't mind, I'd like to invite you to dinner. My way of welcoming you to Johannesburg."

Nelly hesitated, then nodded, touched by his kindness. "Thank you, David. That sounds nice."

Later that evening, Nelly met David in the elegant hotel restaurant. They shared a pleasant meal, and for a moment, Nelly's tension eased. David was charming, his conversation light and engaging. But something in his eyes made Nelly uneasy.

At the end of dinner, David's demeanor subtly shifted. "You know, Nelly, I've heard you're looking for someone very important."

Nelly's guard went up instantly. "What do you mean?"

David leaned in, his voice low. "Kevin Douglas. Do you think you can find him before we do?"

Nelly's blood ran cold. "Who are you?" she demanded.

David smiled. "Let's just say we have a particular interest in finding Mr. Douglas. You can't stop us."

Without warning, Nelly grabbed her bag and fled from the table. David tried to grab her arm, but she broke free and sprinted out of the restaurant. She ran through the hotel lobby, glancing back to see David and two men in black suits pursuing her.

Nelly burst through the hotel doors, hailed a taxi, and jumped in. "Drive! Take me to the airport. Now!"

The taxi sped off, leaving her pursuers behind. Nelly frantically called Simba. "Simba, it's worse than we thought. I need to get out of here. Any news on Kevin's location?"

Simba's voice crackled through the line. "I just got word. Kevin is in Colombia for a business meeting. Go there immediately."

As the taxi raced toward the airport, Nelly took a deep breath. She had narrowly escaped once again, but she knew the real danger was just beginning. She had to reach Kevin before it was too late.
