Arior was founded in 1968 by the painter, sculptor and jeweller Jordi Figueras i Bas (Barcelona, 1942). His career began in 1957, when he embarked on his artistic training at the Escola Massana, working on clay modelling. He juggled his studies and work, starting out as an apprentice at Serrahima’s old jewellery workshop. The colour, shapes and Gaudí-inspired designs of his earliest collections were no coincidence. The Figueras family has historically had very close ties to the cultural and architectural movement of modernism in Barcelona.Arior has been designing and making jewelery for more than 50 years, using techniques such as fire enamel, pigmentation and the fusion of different metals. For the design and materialization of originals, they combine the learned craft tradition with new technologies, which offer us new design possibilities.All of pieces are made entirely in the workshop in Barcelona.The origins working with fire enamel inspired to create the Pigments line.They transfered natural pigments to jewelry with a totally new technique that continues to experiment with the manipulation and combination of different metals and finishes.
