It’s okay if this isn’t the most wonderful time of the year for you.
Not everyone feels the cheer in the lights or the joy in the carols. For some, this season is quieter, heavier, filled with memories that show up uninvited or empty spaces that ache. While everyone else seems to be celebrating, you might just be trying to get through the days and that’s okay.
This time of year isn’t only about happiness and laughter. It’s also about noticing the hard parts, the missing pieces, the things that haven’t healed yet. And it’s okay to feel that. You don’t have to force yourself to smile or pretend it’s all perfect.
If all you do this season is breathe, survive, and keep going, that’s more than enough. Sometimes, the most honest way to honor this season is by giving yourself grace when joy feels far away.
