"A piano for two voices" is at once an exceptional meeting and challenge, between Alain Jean-Marie, Gino Sitson and René Geoffroy. Through music, these three exceptional artists wanted to redo the way of their Africans ancestors deported on unknown lands and try to imagine their frustrations, their fears, their deprivations and humiliations.
From this trauma will be born a rich mixing of Afro culture that they leave in heritage to us: blues, jazz, the gwoka and the quadrille, the mayola, bossa nova, the bel air, the music of Cuba, Haitian music.... to mention only these. All of them are fruits of a brewing of pain, punishment, blood and pleasures.
The piano by Alain Jean-Marie, relevant, inventive and powerful, mixed with the voice of René Geoffroy, serious, powerful, cavernous, add to Gino Sitson’s air light voice, deep, subtle; make the Just Trio needed to invite us to travel on these lands.
REMINISCENCE wants to be the celebration of internal forces of creations and adaptations of peoples who in their torment, know how to transcend the unspeakable.
