Well thank goodness for that!! A Verdon Records Christmas Episode (not Christmas Special as it has to pass a Father Christmas 'Christmas Special' test, and I forgot to submit it in time, the deadline was the 20th, I only found out today). This Christmas Episode will be broadcast on RADIO VERDON tonight at 19h00 or 6pm UK time. Baz finally gets married to Tiff, who herself, it transpires, has a dark, unchristmassy past, which is dying to reveal itself, a stag and hen do, and a tower crane that saves the day. The next episode of Verdon Records is out next week and I need some music for it. The theme this time is the state altering DRUGS. Can you think of any songs that relate to any kind of drugs? They can be legal, like, coffee, alcohol, ci******es, aspirin or tea. Could be illegal, dope, mushrooms, co***ne or speed, uppers or downers. What songs can you think of? I will include songs in the episode that are most suited to the story, which I haven't worked out yet, think I need a coffee, or a ............??!!?

My feathered friends, I would like to bird peck your brains for bird related music. The next episode will have the theme of all things avian, those beautiful creatures with beaks and colourful plumage. And they sometimes fly, like a do do did not.

Here is my own photo of Bristol Craig Comet that I took over the weekend. It was bloody freezing up on the Plateau de Valensole and despite checking websites for exact positions of the comet I could not see it with my own eye. Perhaps it was still a bit early as the optimum time to see this with your naked eye is the 1st February. However, my camera did pick the Bristol Craig Comet up, which you can see if you look down the centre right hand side of the photo, there you will see an unremarkable, green spot. Will try again soon to get a better photo.

Comet C/2022 E3 ZTF over the Observatory ✨☄️

Cette semaine j'ai profité d'une nuit claire pour aller shooter la fameuse comète C/2022 E3 (ZTF). Je voulais vraiment acquérir un maximum de data pour un résultat propre et détailé et ca été le cas! On y voit bien les 3 queues ( ion, poussière)

Pour obtenir un tel résultat j'ai opté pour le Sigma 150/600 au 400mm, ma monture motorisé et du guidage. Le plus compliqué a été d'empiler les photos de la comète car elle se deplace vite dans le ciel et j'ai donc dû empiler les 30 prises sur Photoshop et les alignées manuellement l'une avec l'autre. Ensuite intégrer la comète au fond de ciel qui lui était resté net car pas de mouvement. Bref ca a pris un temps fou mais la voici!

En ce qui concerne le premier plan c'est un sommet du 04 , le mont Chiran qui ce soir la était tout de blanc vêtu! Je regardais en debut de mois quand la comète longeait l'horizon nord si c'était possible de l'aligner avec le Chiran et son Observatoire et bien oui !

Voila j'espère avoir une autre opportunité le mois prochain si la comète est toujours belle...en attendant si vous voulez l'observer ce sera dans un tres bon ciel et sans Lune sinon à l'oeil nue elle n'est pas visible.

The Comet is Coming to the record shop in Moustiers Sainte-Marie. A story around the coming of comet, C2022 E3 ZTF. Ian starts a campaign to rename the comet Bristol Craig Comet. Hector has parties in the hills of Provence to see in the comet. Scott travels to the shop for his book signing and gets lost in the process. Plus loads of space themed music! Rename C2022 E3 (ZTF) Comet Campaign
The comet is coming!! We want to call it something warm, not C2022 E3 (ZTF)! You have to really think hard to remember this and it stops the flow of your astronomical conversations. That's why we have come up with Bristol Craig Comet. Say it a few times to yourself in a dark corner, or out loud in the post office where the first class stamps linger, and it works. Bristol Craig Comet, Bristol Craig Comet, BRISTOL CRAIG COMET!
Please share this on your social media and get NASA's attention, and together we can rename C2022 E3 (ZTF), BRISTOL CRAIG.
