I appreciate a lot the illustrations of Marion Traoré made in the collage technique of colourful pieces of papier. Her characters - people and animals - either don’t have detailed drawn faces or turn their back to the reader but it doesn’t make her books less deep and meaningful. They convey messages of solidarity, wisdom, exchange and mutual aid.

Extract from Konoba, Marion’s second picture book to be published this spring by in France. And also in US in English in Spanish later this year.

TrainLine prevents me that tomorrow I must take my usual 5-hours train from Lyon to Frankfurt. The ticket is there but... no book fair waiting with its energy, speed and excitement. But all those who work in publishing know that since one week (or two, or more) we are already all in Frankfurt through video calls (today I had a fantastic call that lasted 1,5h (!!) with a German publisher) so the people are still there and that’s just great! Books are there on our screens too🤗 it’s just that next year we’ll need to consume a double portion of sausage and beer to compensate😄 illustration from a new picture book by Le Renard Emprivoisé (The captamed fox).

Some of the books approved for publication in the last couple of weeks: Turkish edition of The tree told me (L’arbre m’a dit), American edition of It’s not so complicated (Ce n’est pas très compliqué) and Russian edition of Ancient Egypt comic book (Égypte Ancienne en BD).
