The FIS Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance is officially set to return to Canada for the Kicking Horse Golden BC Pro on Friday, February 7. After two intense European stops, athletes will now battle on some of North America’s most dynamic and challenging terrain in a crucial showdown before The Cut.
Nestled in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is a premier freeride destination, known for its steep chutes, deep snowpack, and natural features. Its rugged terrain blends technical descents, massive airs, and high-speed open faces, pushing even the most experienced riders to their limits.
Since debuting on the FWT in 2018, Kicking Horse has become one of the most thrilling and demanding stops on the Tour. With fresh snowfall and a stacked lineup—including wildcard Parkin Costain—this year’s competition is set to deliver unforgettable action.

The Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance is set to return to French soil for the first time in nine years with the highly anticipated debut of the Val Thorens Pro. Situated in the heart of Les Trois Vallées, the largest ski area in the world, Val Thorens, the world best ski resort, promises to deliver thrilling freeride action on its dramatic terrain. Athletes, fans, and freeride enthusiasts can expect steep faces, technical lines, and breathtaking moments as the world’s elite freeriders compete in this stunning alpine setting.
With the weather window spanning from January 27 through February 1, 2025, athletes will need to adapt to the unique challenges of Val Thorens’ high-altitude terrain. FWT organizers, in collaboration with local teams, will select the ideal competition day to ensure prime conditions for both safety and spectacular performances.
The Val Thorens Pro is already quickly establishing itself as a standout addition to the FWT. Known for its steep couloirs and varied terrain, the venue provides an ideal stage for freeriders to demonstrate their skill, precision, and creativity. At 2,300 meters above sea level, Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe and a dream destination for mountain enthusiasts. Its high-altitude slopes and dramatic faces make it perfectly suited for the challenges of a world-class freeride competition, offering opportunities for riders to explore bold lines and technical features.
