Why You Should Exfoliate Your Skin (+ Natural DIY Recipes!)
Did you know that your skin is constantly renewing itself? New skin cells form underneath while old, dead skin cells sit on top. When those dead cells linger too long, they can clog pores, make your skin look dry and flaky, and block the absorption of all your amazing skincare products. That’s where exfoliation comes in!
By removing the layer of dead skin cells, you:
✨ Improve absorption: Your serums and moisturizers can finally do their job.
✨ Boost radiance: Say goodbye to dullness and hello to a healthy glow.
✨ Promote smoothness: Your skin will feel soft and refreshed.
DIY Natural Exfoliation Recipes
1. Gentle Sugar Scrub (For all skin types)
• 1 tbsp coconut oil or olive oil
• 1 tbsp fine sugar
• A few drops of your favorite essential oil (like lavender or tea tree)
Mix and gently massage onto damp skin in circular motions. Rinse with warm water.
2. Oatmeal & Honey Scrub (For sensitive skin)
• 1 tbsp finely ground oatmeal
• 1 tbsp honey
• 1 tsp warm water
Blend ingredients into a paste. Apply to your skin, rub gently, and rinse. Perfect for calming irritation!
3. Coffee & Coconut Scrub (For a radiant glow)
• 1 tbsp ground coffee
• 1 tbsp coconut oil
• 1 tsp brown sugar
Massage in circular motions to boost circulation and remove dullness.
4. Lemon & Baking Soda Scrub (For oily or acne-prone skin)
• 1 tbsp baking soda
• Juice of ½ lemon
Mix into a paste and gently exfoliate. Avoid this one if you have sensitive skin!
How Often Should You Exfoliate?
Stick to 1–2 times per week to avoid over-exfoliating, which can damage your skin barrier.
