Little update on the Name Your Price initiative as there have been some changes.

I. The plugin I used for that created issues in adding items to the cart, so I had to remove it and find something else
II. While some of you played the game (thanks for that 🖤), other took this as an opportunity to grab loads of records for the minimum price. Which is cool for gaining some space back, but clearly not helpful to raise money for the upcoming releases. And also a bit saddening to see the value they give to my "work" (as a reminder, I do that outside of my day to day job, I'm not earning anything at all, it's actually costing a lot of money).

So I had to change the plugin, and found a new one that allows me to adapt and expand on this.

From now on, you will have the choice between 3 prices.
- For older distro items, you will be able to choose either the original price, a lower price or an even lower price
- For ALL VOTU releases, you will have the choice between :
* the solidarity price : if you're having a bit of a hard time, but still want to enjoy the releases, the price is lower than the retail price
* the original retail price : this one doesn't change
* the support price : if you want to support the label and can afford to pay a few extra euros.

I know the cost of vinyl has increased a lot lately, and I figured it's a good way to not leave people behind, as the main reason I'm doing this is to share the music I love with as many people as possible.

This means you get to choose how much you value the record (the production cost is only indicative, you can pay less or you can pay more, it's your choice).

1 year ago, I officially started distributing the records from Dog Knights Productions (as well as Left Hand Label and Good Job Dog) in Europe via my little label. This label had always been a model throughout the years, with a killer roster and a gorgeous aesthetics, so it was an honor (and also a little stress to know if I would be up to the task).

After 1 year, I couldn't be happier about this. The releases are still top notch, and it also made some people discover records released by VOTU, big thanks to all of you for your curiosity and open mind.

As you can see in the pictures, from 114 orders the previours year, I moved to 871 orders dispatched, which has been a big increase (and a lot of trips to the post office). There have been times where it took me a bit longer than before to handle all this, but I hope you've all been happy about this !

Since July, we also started distributing some of the VOTU catalog in the UK and in the US via Dog Knights website (friends from over there, make sure to order from there to save on shipping and customs), this will continue to roll out in the coming months, don't hesitate to drop a message for records you want to see !

So here is to this first birthday, thanks again Darren for this opportunity and all your help throughout this year, hopefully the 2nd year will be even better !

We've been invited to play in China for this year's edition of Offside Festival!
It will take place in Ningbo (not too far away from Shanghai) between 1 and 3 November (our show will be on the 3rd).
A new drummer and friend will join us in this adventure. You might know him from his other band 'Goodbye Meteor', please welcome Laurent!

Pour une fois je poste en français, parce que la situation politique en France actuellement est plus que préoccupante.
Tout est résumé dans ce post qu'on a pu faire avec Solitone (pour les personnes qui n'auraient pas suivi, le groupe dans lequel je chante quand je poste pas des cartons de disques).
Le label a toujours eu vocation à faire entendre les voix des personnes que l'on entend pas, toujours dans un but de solidarité et d'entraide, en bannissant la haine et le mensonge.
Si vous ne vous retrouvez pas dans cela, ou que vous vous sentez dépassé.e.s par la situation, mes MPs sont ouverts pour en discuter.
En attendant, on fait le maximum pour éviter l'arrivée de l'extrême droite au pouvoir, et pour essayer d'imaginer un futur meilleur (et pour moi ça viendra du Front Populaire)
