"Il aime les ambiances en clair-obscur. Dans son salon, l'écran de télévision est encadré de piles de boitiers de jeu et d'une console Sega, un modèle "rétro" qui a marqué les années 80. Julien Labatut achète les jeux de son enfance, qu'il répertorie avec soin. À sept ans, il n'avait pas le droit d'utiliser l'ordinateur de son grand frère, mais celui-ci lui en a fabriqué un, avec un écran, un volant, divers objets et l'enregistrement sur cassette de la musique d'un jeu vidéo. Simulation d'une simulation. Après des études de "génie mathématique et informatique", Julien Labatut parvient à réaliser son rêve. Il devient programmeur pour un studio renommé de jeux vidéo. Le monde d'adulte qu'il découvre ne coïncide pas avec ce qu'il imaginait enfant. Il part pour une longue parenthèse romantique en Roumanie. Il rentre en France accompagné et reprend du service dans l'industrie du jeu vidéo. À Bordeaux, le studio Asobo est voisin du Frac-MÉCA. Avec le comité d'entreprise, Julien participe à plusieurs visites avec une médiatrice. "Je pense que certains artistes s'amusent et parfois se moquent de nous, consciemment. Ils veulent aussi nous mettre mal à l'aise. Ça oblige à mettre le cerveau en route, ça force la réflexion. C'était bien d'avoir une guide. C'est un élément déclencheur qui catalyse nos idées. On interprète ce qu'on voit en discutant ensemble. Cela permet de se poser des questions qu'on n'aurait pas exprimées sinon." Le quarantenaire gourmand est intarissable sur la musique, le scénario, l'aspect artistique ou le réalisme des jeux vidéo, autant d'éléments qui fidélisent une http://xn--commaut-hya.de/ fans. On en vient à se demander s'il n'est pas à lui tout seul une institution culturelle, avec son sens de la collection et ses références étayées. À moins qu'il n'incarne le personnage dessiné de l’un de ses tee-shirts préférés, le "garçon fée" Link, héros de Zelda, un des blockbusters de Nintendo... "
