Last July, we had the privilege of collaborating with Abolition (Abolition.punx), a quartet from Montreuil (Paris), to bring their debut EP called "Demo," to life. The recording session took place at our esteemed partner studio, Studios Resonance 93, where drums, bass, guitar, and vocals seamlessly came together in a single day.

Following the initial recording, our team at Life of Strife Productions in Aubervilliers, led by Mao Holiday, undertook the meticulous tasks of mixing, producing, and mastering the five songs featured in the EP. These tracks are now available for your enjoyment, and we invite you to catch a glimpse of the recording process in a video we created on that memorable day.

Collaborating with Abolition was an immensely enjoyable experience for us, we are confident that you will have fun while listening these five songs.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the band for entrusting us with their debut EP and for their unwavering support. Recording and producing their inaugural album was a special and rewarding endeavou for us, and we are proud to have been part of this significant milestone in their musical journey.

Great job on putting this reel together! Connecting sound and music to visuals is indeed crucial to create an engaging and informative narrative. We decided not to go overboard with sound effects, as it can be distracting to the audience.

For sound we did Foley, sound design, music composition, mixing, and mastering.
The video was made by Modular Mania, (who is also part of the Life Of Strife Productions Team) was in charged of the visuals, graphics, and Motion design.

A review of one of the albums we did work on along South London Punk Collective by Nathan Brown

“This is very much a punk DIY family production. Whilst the band didn’t literally do it all themselves, the recording was produced by the wider family. It is one of a growing number of sessions produced by John Youens of South London Punk Collective and the band Slow Faction, and Mao Holiday of The Babes. The recording session took place at the wonderful Overdrive Studios run by the John and Sarah from P.I.G. I have heard stuff recorded in far more expensive studios with professional producers that managed to flatten out all the energy. This demonstrates that sometimes the only way to get good punk music out if a studio is to make sure punks are at the controls.”

Matt Ren EX was not only the booking agent/promoter at Life of Strife, he was one of the founders of Life of Strife Productions and the name was his idea.
We recorded and mixed The Babes side of this album, even though Matt was able to listen the actual vinyl, he was not able to hold the final work.

We will be doing a Matthew Renicks "Matt Ren EX" Memorial Celebration, you are more than welcome to come over and celebrate the life and legacy of our brother at Overdrive Studios.

We had the great experience to team up with South London Punk Collective and record Swaraj Chronos, a 4 piece London band with great energy and amazing music!

We did live room engineering, making sure that all mics were placed correctly for every single instrument, at the same time we were assisting John Youens who was the desk engineer, and later on the person who mixed this piece.

The recording was done at Overdrive Studios and once again, it was fun!
Looking forward and crossing fingers for all you bands (and us, engineers), to be able to get back to what we do best!

Today we are celebrating the release of the radio show “Conversando con mi abuela” (Conversing with my grandma).
It is a season of 16 radio shows that will be playing in Colombia, and where we did the sound engineering and production of this pre recorded radio show for kids!

This radio show is awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Colombia as best radio production for 2020 🤩

Last week we got in the studio with Butcher Baby. This London based hardcore punk band came over to our chamber in Overdrive Studios and recorded vocals and backing vocals for their coming up EP, which we will be mixing and producing!

Last May we did the Foley, Mixing, Production and Mastering and recording advice to participate in a national contest in Colombia.


The competition was an open contest for radio production by the Colombian Ministry of Culture.

We had the confidence of a team of people and we managed to present everything. Special thanks to and Gabriela for their trust in a project where they have been working on for over 5 years.

The results are out and we are extremely proud to share with all of you that our project called Conversando con mi Abuela (Conversing with my grandma) will be played on the radio.

The Wuhan Bats is a virtual band with members living in various towns and cities across the U.K and the Netherlands. Not being able to perform with their bands, they got together and decided to combine their skills. We did have lots of fun on this project and their video will be released this week, so keep your eyes open and ears ready!

Confinement has been a long way and we haven’t been able to record anyone. However, we have been quite busy and productive! We found a way to offer our services and that is why, if you are not here in London or we can not record you personally, we can be delivering professional audio. This song to be released, was edited, mixed produced and mastered, also, we gave some recording advice to the musicians so we had a one to one sessions, up to the point that we managed to find a way to work together as a team.

The last April we had the pleasure to work with The CHAIN of PANIC. This 3 piece outfit band came over to our chamber in Overdrive Studios and recorded drums, bass, guitar, and vocals, and right now we are working in the mixing, production, and mastering of their debut album!
