Today marks the first skiing day of the Winter Universiade! Check out our athlete Valtteri Pennanen’s thoughts:

Greetings from sunny Italy! I’ll be here in Pragelato for the next 10 days participating in the Universiade. The same trails were used during the 2006 Torino Olympics.

I’ll be competing in 3 individual races and 2 relay events. The trails are fantastic, and the conditions are really slick, so we can expect some fast races ahead. I’m feeling great and ready to give my best performances of the season here.

Valto and Aulis Tolsa frequently visited Eetu Niska's ski and wax factory, where they learned the secrets of the famous "SECRET" ski wax. Eetu's teachings made Aulis a master of special-condition waxes.

In 1934, Valto founded the Valto Tolsa Ski Wax Factory. Later, in 1951, Aulis established his own factory in Jyväskylä, creating the Vauhti ski wax range. Aulis began wax production in a small workshop in his sauna, but the space quickly became too small, prompting him to move to a rented detached house.

Vauhti's factory building was completed in the fall of 2022 in the Tikkala industrial area of Tohmajärvi. Our factory incorporates the latest technological innovations, ensuring efficient and adaptive robotics and production lines for ski waxes and various chemical products.
