BPW Finland encourages its members by offering information and education as well as by supporting research. By the selection of the Woman of the Year BPW Finland highlights the importance of professional competence and skills. BPW Finland takes an interest in current issues concerning business and professional women. BPW Finland works in co-operation with other organisations that enhance the possibilities for women to function equally on social, educational and economic issues. BPW Finland creates the possibility for women in different fields of employment to meet and make friends. The network that is thus created is useful for the members in the various situations of their lives. BPW Finland is a non-aligned organisation for women who know their professional and social responsibilities. We at BPW Finland participate actively in the international activities of BPW and work in co-operation with women in different fields of employment. BPW Finland, as a member of The National Council of Women of Finland, UNIFEM Finland and Finnish Refugee Council, is represented in the administration of the aforementioned. BPW Finland is a national umbrella organisation and was founded in 1946. At the moment there are 27 BPW Finland clubs functioning in Finland. We publish our own organisation and member magazine, the LIVYK-news. It appears four times a year and special issues deal with current affairs concerning the members, the federation and the clubs. There are also advertisements in the magazine.
