Bafe's Factory has signed the Salamakannel band at Kaustinen's folk music festival!
The new album IV will be released in October 2024 🌟

Salamakannel is back! The music for the band's upcoming fourth album has a variety of moods, from heart-wrenching lyrical melodies to church bells, Chicago waltz, polska and polsketti, as well as humppa. Salamakannel’s multiple stringed instruments ripple both in a traditional acoustic way and partly with modern effects. An essential part of Salamakannel music is the band members' personal compositions.

Salamakannel is played by Hannu Saha (kanteles), Antti Kettunen (guitars), Kimmo Känsälä (bass) and Arto Järvelä (violin, nyckelharpa and mandolin). What's special about the new album is that the instrumental band has two great folk singers, Jonna Tervomaa and Ismo Alanko, as guests.

Salamakannel will celebrate the release of their album in November with a tour across Finland.

Five-stringed futurism from a couple of hundred years ago!

Hannu Saha is a traditional folk musician specializing in various kinds of kantele and their traditional playing styles. He has appeared on dozens of recordings including Mummi Kutoo, Primitiivisen Musiikin Orkesteri Primo and Salamakannel.

Pakasteet (”frozen food”) are a dark electronic music duo formed by interdisciplinary artists Jussi Lehtisalo and Mika Taanila. Musician and record producer, Jussi Lehtisalo has released more than 150 albums, nearly 50 of which he has dropped with Circle, his most reputed outfit. Mika Taanila is a film director and visual artist whose work is situated halfway between documentary cinema, avant-garde and video art.
